Downloading Jimmy...??......

Post by CANADIANPARROTHEAD »

Just curious, I dont want to get anyone ticked here but as anyone with a computer and a little knowledge knows there are places to download music, just wondering if people have ftp sites or is there places to get live shows.
I know people record them so people must have them. Just curious, dont want to start a feather war about the downloading industry, We all know it exists.
PM me if you dont wanna post
Thanks

Live shows?? That's very simple. During concert season all concerts are aired over radio Margaritaville.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Try www.kazza.com. And go quickly before they shut it down just like napster. They're in court as I type this.

I download from Kazaa all the time. I can tell you that the only Buffett live I have seen on the site is from live albums he has. I have never seen a live concert on there.

In the link section at this site, find under multimedia Buffet online. 70's on up. That site also has an FTP high and low section. I'm listening to a 1990 concert fom there now. Just don't slam the site all at once with downloads.

Can anyone tell me how to record from radio margaritaville. I would love to record some of JB's live concerts. Thanks.

Well... I did this about a month ago (in a few PM's) for CANADIANPARROTHEAD. Since I don't feel like revamping the whole thing, I'll just post the messages that I sent to him. Hope it helps... If ya have questions send me a PM and I'll help ya out.
How's this for a quick reply?? I used to record them. I don't seem to have as much free time as I used to these days... Anyway, I use a program called Total Recorder. It's extremely easy to use and if memory serves correct I believe it's free, but if it's not it can't be more than $10 or so.

You can get it here... http://www.highcriteria.com/

I've got to run, but I'll be back in a few hours. If you have any other qustions I'll try and answer them then.

Good Luck!!!

Sure I remember meeting you guys... Wasn't I runnin' around with your camcorder for a while?? You plannin' on doing Great Woods again this year? Always the best time!!

Okay, here's the scoop on the Total Recorder. It is absolutely worth the money. Once you down load and install it all you have to do is go to radiomargaitaville.com and start playing the concert broadcast through your media player (e.g. Real Player, Windows Media Player...etc.). Once it's playing all you do is hit the record button on your Total Recorder. When the concert is over you hit the stop or end button. I'm not sure what the buttons say as I'm not at my own PC right now. When it's done you are going to have a huge wave file. A wave file is just a typical audio file. If you are planning on burning the concerts on to CD you will also have to find a wave editing software program. What that program does is it allows you to chop the massive wave file into smaller files. In other words it allows you to break the concert up into individual tracks. You can get the wave editor here:

http://www.download32.nl/proghtml/418/41871.htm

I think the wave editor is like $10-$15. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Hey Dude,

Just go onto any search engine and type in the words "CD Wave Editor". I don't know if there are any free ones or not. I'm not at home so I can't tell you the name of the one that I use. Let me know if you need anything else...

Peace Bruddah!!

It's called the web guide here. Top of the page under help. One of the best for old shows, 70's thru 80's is here:

http://buffett.ontheweb.nu/

Go to the FTP sections for more shows not listed. Also a description of the audience recordings are listed in the main site itself.

Total Recorder can also split the concert but you have more control in CD Wave or any editor with a waveform.

I saw where it was down briefly yesterday too and that link took you to another page. Scared the Bejesus out of me! I try to download a show or two a day in the Real Audio format for later conversion. Its a great site for those of us with few live shows.
