Why don't you write your message on a beach ball, then throw it up on stage.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd get myself drunk and I'd jump right back in!

The Woodlands is pretty fussy about what you can take in (like bottled water) , but I doubt that they'd object to a sign like that. Another tip: talk to the ushers, they are GREAT at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell pavilion... I had a great experience there last year with some of them, and oh HELL, what am I thinking? I sent them a nice note after last year's experience, and I've got a few email addresses from head ushers and the people who run the venue -- let me send you a PM with those. I think they'd LOVE the publicity -- what a great story.
GOOD luck, and good for you scoring front row!

Thank you - I try (though I've not been around BN much lately). I dug through my email (since they were SOOO nice to respond) and sent him the addresses for the public relations coordinator, the event coordinator, and the nice person who helped send my email through their organization.. also sent him the name of the WONDERFUL usher coordinator who was (like baseball) so good to me. Always happy to help -- don't know that it will get him much further along his trail, but what a nice story, so I'm happy to pitch in when I can.
And, btw, since I've moved to souther CA lately, the one thing I DO miss about Houston is CWM, as it's a LOVELY venue. I'll have to settle for Vegas this year (damn, a hardship).
I truly DO hope this will help.

I have an idea
Okay tell me what you think of this. What if I write something like "Will you be my best man?" on either a towel or a blanket those are both perfectly legal to bring in. I guess it should work as long as they don't check out where my seats are. Anybody?

Sounds good to me. Might help if you put it on a Corona towel.txsparrothead wrote:Okay tell me what you think of this. Will the bride to be be at your side?
Have your artist friend (everyone has one, no?) draw a tiki boy and tiki girl dressed in tropical tux and gown. Write "getting married on (date)... will you be my best man?"
Seems sure to illicit a response!

(And congrats on your upcoming wedding, too!)
FWIW, my daughter brought a sign into Great Woods in 2001 that was on posterboard. She made the big screen several times with it. It also got us a fun conversation with Jimmy at the ending handshake AND it got her a beach ball she still tresures!
I'm sure your's will get even more recogntion from him!

Time and place etc..
Yes the fiance will be with me. I figured since we were on the front row it wouldn't have to be held up so high as to block peoples view. I'm 6'2" so I do that enough myself. I was thinking I could drape it over the rail, and hold it up about head high occasionally.
