OK ... this thread was just too annoying to pass up.
We have been extremely lucky over the years with getting tickets to the Atlanta shows. We don't always get as many as we want, but we always wind up getting some tickets. There was one year however, that will stick in my head forever. We went to a Ticketmaster outlet with another couple to stand in line in the cold. I drew # 4 in the Lottery, my husband drew #10 & one of our phriends drew #12. So ... we thought we had at least 20 lawn seats for sure - maybe 30 (BTW ... the limit for lawn seats at Lakewood has been 10 as long as we have been going - 16 years!). This particular ticketmaster did not take orders for tickets after the lottery & to top it off, they had a trainee on the computer that day! This was one of the last years that Jimmy did 2 shows in Atlanta, so we were willing to take either the Thursday or the Saturday show. Because of the incompetence of the staff at this ticketmaster outlet, only the first 2 people in line got tickets - in other words, two shows completely sold out before they could process 2 orders!

Thankfully, we had friends at another outlet that scored 20 tickets, so we made it to the show.
This year, on the other hand, we were extremely lucky!

My husband and father-in-law went to a ticketmaster outlet that just opened up not far from us. There were only 10 people in line and they drew #'s 3 & 8. The first 8 people wound up with tickets, which gave us 20.

Meanwhile, I left a seminar that I was attending and called on my cell phone, scoring another 10!
My point of these tales is that getting tickets to popular shows (whether it is Jimmy, Springsteen, Eagles, Cher, or any other popular act) is a very indirect science which is totally based on LUCK! We usually rely on the old go stand in line routine, since I have never had luck on the phones or Internet. However, a previous commitment kept me from standing in line this year & the phone route worked. You just never know. Luck certainly plays a part because the lottery system (which all ticketmaster outlets are bound by contract to hold) is a total luck of the draw & even if you get a good lottery number, that still doesn't guarantee you tickets. Even the brokers and scalpers don't have an advantage, except that they hire tons of people at minimum wage to stand in line ... of course the odds are better when you flood the lines with your people!
So ... let's just all be nice Parrotheads

Some people wind up with more tickets than they need for various reasons. Some people loose out on tickets for various reasons (seldom laziness). Why can't these Parrotheads work together for everyone's good?

We have always sold any extra tickets at face value (once unknowingly to a scalper in the parking lot

). Hopefully we've helped someone not as lucky enjoy what we so enjoy & look forward to ... seeing Jimmy live!

Indecision may or may not be my problem.
