Alright Fruitcakes! :D You guys are in. My fiance's first concert was at Merriweather 3 years ago. Her first Phead experience was looking out the window of our room and exclaiming "oh my god" when she saw the party going on at the pool! :D

Will be at Nissan also. My brother and his buddy are meeting us there. We are staying at the Red Roof Inn. No pool there, but Hooters is always full of Pheads the day of the show. :D

Well you answered my next question about where to stay. We were never their either. Just started our traveling last year when we went to Greensboro. Where is the Red Roof located?
I am sure I will not have to twist my husbands arm to go to the party at Hooters

I think the actual road it is on is Automotive Dr., but it is right off of I66 on a main drag that looks like Concord Pike. It's close to Nissan also :D Hooters is right up the road. Do you have a room yet? The motels around that area book up real quick. As soon as the concert dates are released I'm on the phone that morning and places are already booked full.

*&%$@!##@^%$*^%$^ You were right, they are all booked!!!! So far the closest I can find is the Holiday in Mclean about 30 min drive. I will keep looking. It does not pay to wait and does not help to not know the area :(

I sent a PM to a fellow BN'er that had 2 rooms at the Red Roof. They had some phriends that did not get tickets, but still had the conf. #'s for the rooms. I'll let you know when I hear back. That was about a month ago though. Keep your fingers crossed. :D

Featherhead wrote:Merriweather is in a highly populated area and all concerts have to be over by a certain time. The police are really tight in that area anyway. Which I really appreciate normally, but it hurts the tailgating. Not that the police hurt the tailgating I think it's the underage pholks who are not responsible which causes the crack downs. Then again, there's always Nissan on Sat. Now that's a whole different story :D
The police s*** they dont care if you have a beer in a cup. They busted a guy a couple of cars down from me the last time buffett played there. The guy must of been in his 60's. He had to open his trunk and dump out all his corona it was about 3 cases. In the past couple years it hasnt changed for any concert ive been to weather it was the black crowes phil lesh bob dylan phish etc... the cops s***. plus merriweather is in howard county where the people are rich stuck up bastards, you cant even have an adult store there because the people complain to much. GET A LIFE. They have the tightest police force ive ever seen and ive been to alot of concerts. Merriweather is the worst. My father knows one of the howard county cops that patroles there. He says he dosent care about drinking as long as its in a cup. BUT he says must of the other cops do care. There was one cop inpaticular that he mentioned who always aressted the most people every time. (he hated him) Well he eventually got what he deserved some fat guy at concert there fell on him and broke his back. This cop went out of his way to bust people for anything and everything. Ive even seen cops now riding around in caravans there that was last year. So you have no idea there coming around. If you go to other disscusion boards of bands that have played at merriweather they all say the same thing it sucks because of the cops. All that said i will be still going to merriweather this year and will be hiding out from the pigs and yes I am of age.

I met a Frederick County Police Officer a few year ago (while I was still living in Frederick) that got some kind of bogus fine at a Buffett show at Merriweather ........

Something like he saw some people he knew so he beeped his horn at them, the police said that was "disturbing the peace" tried to get him to open up his trunk, he refussed, so they slapped him with a few fines. He of course had all the fines against him dropped, but waht a major pain in the ass!

Anyway, that last time I was at Merriweather, we pre-made our margaritas at home and puth them into Surge and Mt Dew bottles before we left, So if you looked into my cooler you wouldn't have seen anything but sodas ..... How can you get in any kind of trouble drinking a good 'ol refreshing Mt Dew??? 8)
