Buffett Cover Bands??

Post by Mr Play »

I know about some of the big ones (A1A, PHINS, Key West) but I'm looking for some other suggestions for the CD Player. Any other good ones out there?

This is propbaly a little self-serving, but I play in a band and we perform several Buffett songs. We're called Daddys' Soul Donut, and our first cd (Glazed) will be finished up in early May. We're based in Atlanta and play a lot of the bars there. Hopefully, we'll be able to get out to a few other cities after the cd hits.

You can get information on our band (show schedules, cd updates, etc.) by emailing us at daddys_soul_donut_inc@yahoo.com.

Sorry for the selfish post, but we gots to eat, ya dig.

Lakewood in 6 days! I can not wait. Last year was so much fun (from what I remember). Hopefully we can play some in the parking lot. That is if the booze doesn't take over to quickly.

St. Somewhere. Really not a Buffett cover band, but same style - including a good steel drum...

I've been watching this board for a while, and felt it was finally time to join in. You guys all seem like a bunch of fun-loving Pholks.

JimmyDreams, I've actually seen you guys play a few times. I was at the show at Eddie's Attic last month. You guys jammed. There was a great version of "Weather is here, wish you were beautiful". How long have you been together? Which band member are you?

Also, that song "T-shirt in My Mind" is F'n hillarious.

The Donut has been together (actively playing) for about 2 years now. I sing and play guitar. You should email us and I'll make sure you get all the important info. We're gonna take over the world you know, and it would be best to become an official "Donut Hole" asap.

We're actually playing Friday night, after Buffett at Eddie's Attic again if anyone is interested.

Daddy's Soul Donut. You play Buffett tunes and your band name is a Simpsons reference. Too perfect!

B2B is a local Buffett band, and they're pretty good. Also, down in North Carolina there's a a really good band called the Caribbean Cowboys. I'm not sure if either of them have any cd's but in my opinion, it would be worth looking into.

Pete Harris. His style is definitely influenced by Jimmy, and he does some covers when performing. But the real treat is his original material -- His "Songs from the Hammock" CD is a good one
