Alpine Valley

Post by Lupy »

I lost my copy of the seating chart at Alpine Valley, the kind that actually shows the rows. I looked on their site and unless I'm blind they don't have it on there anymore. Anyone know where I can find one?? Thanks!

This is about the best one out there - it even describes what row you are actually in:

You use to be able to get in there around noon but now I think its more like 3. Be warned though, the cops are out in full force on the main highways just waiting to stop some one! Once you are in,they don't bother you at all. Its a great time there, now to get tickets!

For the past six years I have heard the same thing 3:00 they let you in. NOT TRUE. For the past six years I have been there between noon and 1, there is a line of cars already heading into the parking area. I hope alpine is a great experiance for you Jimminy.

I can concur with Dlish - in the last 3 years I have been in and had my tailgate set up before 2:00, and, at least in the lot I have been in all 3 years, there has been absolutely no resistence by the staff. Nothing better than Alpine for tailgating, and as long as they let us in the concert before it starts this year, there's no better place to see a show!

Ive been in at noon the last 4 years. I dont see it changing. Those too drunk to find their group meet by the street entrance. Women are not allowed to squat inside on the fence anymore and guys arent allowed to wet down the fence while watching them squat. And yes , do look out for the police. All in all they are ok, As long as your not drunk driving. Which bring me to traffic. If you stop drinking by intermission, you should be sober by the time you get out. Plan on waiting. Any other questions feel free. We got 32 tickets this year so we should be able to find a sober one in the group

By the way, dont set up a cash bar, they wont let you do it.

My friends and I will also be at Summerfest. We are going to the Jack Johnson (Covers Pirate Looks At Forty, damn good) show. Then heading to our campground to party with all the phruitcakes.

Here's Jacks site to check out his music.

This will be my first trip to Alpine. Where does everyone stay? I hear Alpine is one of the best venues. If it's even close to Great Woods, I can't wait!

Alpine starts early. I was set-up last year by noon... Try to get there early though. The walk from the back lot is .5 of a mile or more. Alpine is a blast.

Traffic is nuts in and around Alpine and East Troy, getting there early will increase the parking lot party time.

Jimminy -- The tailgating is excellent, but one word of caution: If you have any interest in seeing the entire concert, start walking to the entrance at or before 6:30. We packed up and started walking at 7 last year, ended up getting inside the venue at around 9. (The mass of humanity being squeezed into two small entrances was a serious buzz kill.)
We were Alpine virgins last year and simply didn't know any better. Good luck and have a great time! :D

To add to what Tin Cup said about the mass humanity and long wait. We got caught up in that too, :x but the trick is to find the main gates and trace back how far the little 3 foot tall fence/guardrails go so you don't weave around and basically double back. Once we got into that football field length area it took us maybe 5 minutes to get up to the gate. Seeing how others experienced the buzzkill like me last year waiting/wandering (yes, I'm still bitter about it! ), let's hope this keeps us all out of unecessary waits. Only Cincy can compare to Alpine in terms of fun out of the places I've seen Jimmy. (haven't been to Atlanta, Camden, or Great Woods yet so no gripes to me about those places please. :) ) See everybody up there, hopefully inside the venue and not in line!!!!!!
