SOLUTION TO ALL THOSE WHO DO NOT GET TICKETS
HERE IS MY SOULTION PLAIN AND SIMPLE. CUT OF INTERNET AND PHONE SALES FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SALES. IF YOU LIVE TOO FAR FROM AN OUTLET, ALL I CAN SAY IS DRIVE YOUR 3 HOURS OR WHATEVER IT TAKES AND FIND AN OUTLET. FORGET THE STUPID LOTTERY THAT TICKETMASTER PLACES, AND MAKE IT FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. IF YOU HAVE TO CAMP OUT OVERNIGHT, WELL T.S. YOU CAMP OUT OVER NIGHT. THIS WAS THE WAY TO GET THE BEST SEATS BACK IN THE DAY BEFORE AL GORE INVENTED THE INTERNET. IF TICKETMASTER WAS TO DO THIS, EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO GO TO A SHOW WOULD BE ABLE TO GO.
AND TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS, LET ME JUST SAY, THE REASON WHY YOU DID NOT GET TICKETS THIS YEAR, WAS BECAUSE EITHER
A.) YOU DIDNT PLAN WELL ENOUGH
B.) ARE TOO LAZY TO GET UP EARLY AND GET TICKETS
C.) DONT REALLY WANT TO GO SEE ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS AROUND
D.) THINK THAT SINCE ALL OF THE ABOVE APPLY TO YOU, AND THAT PEOPLE SHOULD NOT SCALP TICKETS AND SINCE YOU WERE UNLUCKY, SOMEONE OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS SHOULD SELL YOU EXTRAS FOR FACE VALUE
I purchased tickets to 4 shows so far this summer, and have not had a single problem at all getting tickets. Actually any concert that I have ever wanted to go see I have always gotten tickets without a problem.
I Think what I am tryin to say is, If you want the tickets, WORK AT GETTING THEM. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT GETTING TICKETS.
Please PM me if you have any problems with this.

Wow. Could you be any more insulting? We plan far in advance for ticket sale day. We have about 3 people trying for every one person who wants a ticket. 2 years ago we even sent someone to the nearest outlet, which is about 2.5 hours away. The outlet worker couldn't get into the system until 20 after and by that time the show was sold out.
I'm glad you always get tickets. Bungo for you. But don't insult the rest of us! Neither A, B, C, nor D apply to our group and we've gotten tickets through TM for the summer shows once in five years. This year we got tickets. Matter of fact we ended up with 2 more than we needed which we sold, out of the goodness of our hearts, for face value.

SirGumby....
It's not as simple as you think. First of all, some of us work more than one job and have a 'keet or two (or 3 or 4!). In any case, we can't just "drop our lives" and wait overnight for tickets. If you can, well then, more power to you, but don't expect the rest of PH nation to fit into your view of life.
TM is a pain in the ass... there's no other way to put it. BUT... it is the only way to get the TIX we want! Every year I do get TIX for GW, but I do need to plan. I go in on-line, by phone and by cellphone.
Finally, this place is built upon mutual admiration for the music and deeds of Bubba... so let's try to keep it positive... Ok?

I made enough money to buy Miami... but I p*** it away so fast...

SirGumby, as you probably know, Ticketmaster is divided into regions, and only certain areas of the country can be bought at certain outlets. So, what are those of us who travel to see JB concerts suppose to do when tickets to the show we're looking for aren't available at any outlets anywhere near where we live?

sirgumby,
I disagree. I think you're a little too judgemental and don't allow for extenuating circumstances.
I admire the luck you've had... maybe you somehow have an exceptional TM outlet that is staffed with people who want to provide the best service to their patrons, and find joy in satisfying ticket needs. But like all companies, other outlets fall short, and just go through the motions with little regard for the eager people that walk away disappointed.
A lot of people want tickets that can't make it to Ticketmaster on the day the tickets go on sale. Some have to work, and some fulfill family obligations. Changing the Alpine on sale date this year screwed me... it made it the 2nd year in a row that I had to try calling from a community easter egg hunt, and of course I was shut out both times.
You have to set priorities. For me, I get a 2nd chance to get tickets, but the easter egg hunt is then and only then, so my keets win out. So if I don't try hard enough in your eyes, so be it. Scalpers take advantage of people like me, and I don't like it one bit. They see it as business, I see it as a flaw in character.
We can still be phriends though, can't we?

Sir Grumby,
I agree with you totally I have been going to JB shows for the better part of 10 years and have seen him in Camden,Cinci,Pittsburgh,Balimore,Vegas,Atlanta,Cleveland,Detroit, and Chicago and have NEVER been shut out through ticketmaster.I have gotten tickets online,by phone and by standing in line.I will say that I have gotten the best pavillion seats by standing in line.I have gotten front row once,2nd row once and 12th row once. You need to do a little investigating to see where the least amount of people will be

for the most part all these shows are easy tickets to get. Try getting Saturday GW tickets... not as easyAnonymous wrote:Sir Grumby,

Gumby, I see your point and it's pretty good. I've spent many nights camping out for shows before the internet, and it worked just fine. I can say one thing for the scalpers. Yes they buy up a lot of the tickets and over charge for them. But my only experience with a scalper was good. I tried getting tickets to the Portland show last September, did Ebay, etc.Tiki Bar wrote:sirgumby,

Finally I went to the show walked up to the first person I saw and paid face value from a scalper. Considering the show was about 30 minutes away, what was he gonna do with them?
Besides if you talk to PH's they're good people that generally will help find tickets.
just tryin' to get by being quiet and shy...

OK one more post on this. Tickets are announced at least usually 2 weeks before they go on sale. HELLO you have notice, ALTER your plans if you want to go to the show. Thats what i have done in the past. If you really wanna go to a show, you will do what you have to to get tickets AND YES THAT INCLUDES GREAT WOODS TICKETS.

I find it hard to believe that Gumby has ever gotten Great Woods tickets by standing in line. He is an hour behind the East Coast and if tickets go 9am that would mean that his local outlet would open at 8am. Anyone ever seen a department store or a record store (where most ticketmaster outlets are) open that early, especially just for tickets to go on sale??? Most places complain that they need to open at 9am on the days tickets go on sale. Tinley is most likely the easiest venue on the tour to get seats to, and the other shows he mentions aren't the hardest venues either. My point is before you go insulting everyone’s efforts know what you are talking about. I'd love to see him try and get Saturday Great Woods tickets by any other means than from a friend or a broker.

And, once again, to add mt 2 cents... I have gotten SAT GW tix each year through either on line or internet. Sirgumby, once again, I don't think you get the BIG picture! As devoted as so many of us are to JB, we STILL have a life that necessitates us to actual do something other than standing in line! ( MY 'keets will ALWAYS be the priority) PLEASE do not tell us to alter our lifestyles; no one here has told you to change yours.

I need to jump in, the only outlets that sell Great woods tix are located in New England and maybe a few in NY! So you couldn't go to an outlet in the midwest to get great woods tix just as you couldn't go to an outlet in New England/Ny and get Chicago/Alpine tix. Look at ticketmasters website, at the bottom are the rules. http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/tcenters/il.html
it clearly says "All Ticket Center sales are subject to geographic restrictions."
Plain and simple, if you are saying you went to an outlet outside of New England/NY waited inline and bought Great Woods tix you are full of s***! The only way to get tickets for events outside your geographic area is on the phone, online or from a broker!
