Yeh, some friends of mine went to his concert in Raliegh, and the first thing they told me when they got back was that he sang a Jimmy Buffett song. Given, the girls don't really know much of his music, i've got them listening to him enough that they knew it was cheeseburger!

Again Doug Supernaw does he went to Paris and a fine
job. I was at Jerry Garcia's memorial service and spoke with Jerrys
daughter who said that the Dead had looked for a song a few times
but could never agree on which one , She also told me that the band
had wanted to do a show in Vegas with Jimmy Can you imagine the
tailgate party for that show???

Thats quite a cool story ragtop W! To hear my favorite band do a song by my favorite singer/personality would truly have been a great gift. As far as touring goes, that would be an unbelievable scene with the Deadheads and Parrotheads together...both groups of people are some of the nicest and most loyal fans around, there is such a grate fellowship that exists among the fans of these two bands. I think that if the Dead were to do a song by Buffett, it would have been a rockin' tune from the 70's or early 80's like "Kick It In To Second Wind" or a song with cool chord changes like "Tampico Trauma". Most of the tunes the Dead covered were Bob Dylan songs or old blues from the 50's.

Does Kenney Chesney's cover remind you of another country star in his early years?
Don't know much about Chesney but if he's a parrothead, he's OK with me!

Kenny's new song No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems sure reminds us of Jimmy, but Kenny didn't write the song. When he starts writing those tropical songs like Jimbo then we can compare him. Don't get me wrong though, it's great that he's a Parrothead and I love his music

I would not compare Kenny to the Great One. They are two different musicians who have their own sound. However, I think it is great that Jimmy's music is being played by people who respect Jimmy. Like Jack Johnson(A Pirate Looks At 40),Alan Jackson duet with Jimmy(A$$ and the Hole), and Kenny singing Cheeseburger in Paradise. These artists brings the music of Buffett to people who probably would not listen to Jimmy. Anyone that tries to spread the madness that I enjoy is Okay by me.

Sorry I didn't word that well. I didn't mean that if Kenny wrote his own tropical songs that he would be equal to the Great One. I just meant that if he wrote his own songs like Jimmy, he could be considered a singer spreading the Carribean fever like Jimmy. Of course no one could ever equal the great Jimmy Buffett, or even come close

Alan Jackson isn't on the Ass and the hole. That's Mac McAnally. People on Kazza have no clue what there talking about on that one.

Sorry guys. I just haven't cared for him since he started the beach music. I like "back where I come from" and a couple other of his earlier songs. But that's about it.
