Whoo whoo, not just east coasters were at the Merriweather and Nissan shows! This west coast girlie was able to hit both of them and let me tell ya, what a blast. Merriweather tailgating is non-exsistant in the parking lot - had to hang out in a MALL lot! HOw funny - but at least their security was nice and didn't kick us out until time to go inside anyways! Heard horror stories about the cops inside the parking lot - confirming all the negative info from anotehr thread. Too bad.
Nissan's parking lot partying was awesome! Both shows were great, although I couldn't see anything from teh Mud Pit in merrweather!
Looking forward to Bubba on the west side here! Am heading to Irvine, don't have tickets yet, but will get them in the lot I'm sure. Thinking driving over from vegas, then renting the RV in Ca on saturday morning. Any idea from you Cali folks on if that would work or places to check out?

So where's everyone sittin'? For me and my buddies its the grass at Coors and Irvine, and section L204 at MGM. Today I got an email from TM sayin' Steely Dan will be playing at Coors on Friday Sept 26th. 4 concerts in 8 days.....I hope I'm still alive for Irvine

We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't
be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some whore he picked up in
town.

Hi all, first post.
I'm looking for tailgating tips for Irvine. Although I'm a longtime fan, this will only be my second JB concert. (The last time was Irvine also, but the heathens I was with didn't want to get there early.
) This year I've got a group of 10, mostly "Buffett virgins," all from L.A.
Any word on when the lot will open this year? Anyone have recommendations for hotels near the venue? And if we're short on designated drivers, are there buses or other transportation options to get from the hotel to the venue?

Check the Homestead Studio Suites at the Irvine Spectrum, PL@30..We got a good room at a great price there using Yahoo Travel (about a buck cheaper than the hotel's website).
FYI, STAY AWAY FROM THE COMFORT INN LAGUNA HILLS!!! It used to be a good place to stay, but the current owners have let it run down and don't care about your complaints (even when you spend big $$$ to stay there).
I would offer a ride, but the Pirate Truck only seats 2, especiallly when the she-crab is in the other seat!!
Stay in touch... If more than 3 of the posters here get a "bivouac" set up, the party could be legendary!!!

I will be in U16 MGM second time this year. Life is good!!!! Lawn for Irvine. I am one of the luck ones. I have a free place to stay in Cali. Some Parrotheads I met last year in Vegas. This will be my first for Irvine. Am looking forward to that venue.ph4life wrote:page 5??? Let's try not to let that happen again!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid in PortSide, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,
'What a lovely cruise!'

The parking lot in Irvine won't open till 3pm....You will have to park across the street and wait it out if you get there before 3pm...
It's better to tailgate in San Diego...last year I pulled in at 12:15pm...I love an all day tailgate!!

Yep-- they're all the same. Just get in there early to try and get a decent spot (which is a difficult task since you'll be having such a blast in the parking lot!)Pirate Looks at 30 wrote:Thanks for the advice crabman. Another question: are all lawn tickets the same? 2 of mine are for a different "section" than the others.
Have fun!
