Look for my Pirate Ship.......the white Blazer with Pirate9 California plates. Might be flying my skull and crossbones with PiratOvr40@aol.com on it.

I may also be wearing my white formal coat with tails.....with the big parrot on the back......signed by Jimmy and the band of course. (damn thing is polyester, like being wrapped in Saran Wrap)

Me, the flag and that coat.....we got some concert miles on us, from coast to coast and border to border.....oh the stories we can tell......and probably will if ya hand me a Corona.....and promise not to tell......if ya hand me a Corona! :)

I got lucky at the SD Parrot Head Club bash at Dick's Last Resort last Tuesday.....won two tickets in the middle of section 102, compliments of Margaritaville Tequila.

See y'all in the west side of the lot, just up the hill around 12:30. Glenn and Mr. James......I'll call ya

The food is prepped, the beer is packed, Live By the Bay is on and I am not driving to the show. Is it too early for a boat drink? I think not. This is like the company picnic for Parrot Heads! See you in Chula by 12:30.

What a great show and tailgate!!! We pulled in at 12:50pm and the parking lot was already happening...Lots of motorhomes and lots of people already partying...I couldn't wait to get parked...The entire tailgate turned out to be quite mellow...not as wild as last year...but fun...The show was great...I was standing on the lawn the entire time and had a blast....There are some details I remember (chatting with Glenn, meeting ph4life and his dad) and some I don't (re-packing the car, actually entering the venue, etc)....My wife actually got the camera in...hopefully we got some good pictures (even though we were on the lawn)....

Let's hear some more stories.....

Trailer Alert--OC Parrothead

Post by lisansputnik »

I just called the Amphitheatre Line and they have a pretty strong warning about turning away trailers and boats...the person who recorded did try and use some humour and is very aware of the migratory and overboard parrothead tendency... if anyone wants to call for details about the show rules and times, 949-855-9374 x 4. Several mentions of OC police on hand for parking enforcement....

I'm blonde, wrong number... Try 949-855-8095 (But a human answered that time, so I didn't hear the spiel, but she confirmed no trailers)...

Sorry, my bad, too excited to get the numbers right!

Hello Phans...

Well, broke in the new bus motorhome...one hell of a porta potti. It was good to see many BNer's...Frank, Cliff, and many others!

Parking lot....great, but quiet compared to Irvine and Great Woods.

The show, terrific! Just like Great Woods, Boston, and Vegas this year...my opinion, great sets, fun stage show, and even a little T & A somehow thrown in on stage and on the jumbotron.

Look forward to seeing many of you at Irvine!

Great concert, great parking lot!

Post by SanDiegoPirate1 »

This was one of the BEST Buffett concerts I've seen. So many old songs I've never heard live...Spicolli's Theme was a big surprise for me.
Thanks to all of you for making the parking lot the best one I've seen in Chula Vista and thanks for dinking all of my tequila!
Gotta love SDPirate's land yacht.....thanks for the hospitality, see ya in town soon.
Won't make it to Irvine, hope to see many of you in Key West for MOTM. Staying at a fish camp in Islamorada Tuesday, 10/28 and sail into Key West on Wednesday.
Fins up everyone.......great time yesterday!

One of my top 5 shows out of 39. Tailgate was just right. Got my camera in for my 6th row, center seat. I find out Friday how they turned out. Scored Corona Party invites, and thanks to my friend, Jack, made many new friends and... Margaritavision!

Glad to meet Glenn, Cliff and Lisa and those of you that I am forgetting at this moment. Can't wait to do it all again on Saturday. Jack's back at Irvine.

Just got in from the big SD! Great show! Great seeing TSITC and Terri (sp) again as well as meeting SDPirate40 and SC Miss Magic! SD, you have a awesome rig (my buddy and i drooled a bit). Glenn, the BN sail is bad a$$!! Spotted it a mile away. Got into the Corona party and was standing right next to the group of 6 that a Corona rep took backstage to see Jimmy! Man, I tried praying real hard for him to say "aw, what the heck, you come too," but....No, it didn't happen. Oh well, now I know what that dude looks like, so consider me his new shadow! Anyways, I'm heading out to Shoreline in the morning, so I'm gonna crash. See you all in Irvine!! 8) 8)

Good to meet you too, Travelin' man!!! Glenn, the BN sail is beautiful!
Loved the show and of course, the tailgate as well. My group couldn't get out of work early, so I spent the first two hours of my time in the lot on my own. Thanks to so many friendly faces making me feel at home... It was wonderful to meet some BNers too! I'll hopefully have pictures to post soon. Wade (7Lords), if you're reading this thread, we made a point to take some photos with our stylish name tags! 8)

See you all Saturday!!!

Tough Luck...

Post by The Mayor »

okay, so I purchased a couple of tickets in the 2nd row for the buffett concert in San Diego and I have been stoked ever since the gods were looking down on me and put my hands on these superb seats...the best seats I have ever had...Me and my girl purchased new aloha shirts, and all the buffett accessories, figuring we will be in the presence of his greatness and we just have to look good....

We got to the parking lot early, and are so into the entire experience knowing that we are right up front to listen to bubba and might just orgasm when Southern Cross is played....My girl is willing to flash bubba she loves him so much, and you know what, I don't mind...I'll share with Bubba.

So we get to our seats and it's 5 minutes before show time...the seats are everything we had imagined...there's the set, we can feel the energy from all those parrot heads...we can hear the conversations of the road crew behind the curtain, Hey look, I think I just got a glimpse of bubba stage right...man, I am feeling rather proud of myself right about now...My woman will just do me forever for getting these great seats...

Then, from the right of the stage, walking down the row in front of us, row one, is this real tall dude, and he's walking our way.....I just now realize that the seat in front of us is not taken, and this real tall dude keeps coming our way....and my fantasy of the perfect buffett experience is quickly turning into a state of fear...no, this tall dude, all 6'10" of him is now only 5 seats away from the open seat in front of us.....I quickly look to the left, hoping there are 50 open seats and that he may just pass us by.....

As he walks in front of us, he is looking at the seat #s...he passes us by and we take a collective deep gasp...yes, we have escaped the real tall dude....and then, all of a sudden, he turns and comes back to that seat right in front of us. The lights go out and the music starts...

Hey, we can't see the stage, the tall dude is blocking 45 degrees of our view, the 45 degrees where bubba is dead center....Sit down real tall dude....the tall dude is casting a shadow on me and my girl......and the tall dude won't sit down.....why is he dancing. real tall dudes shouldn't dance...

We don't dare ask him to sit down, he would kick the %$#&* out of us....this tall dude is a real tall dude....and he looks like he should be at a Grateful Dead concert...all that tie-die... how'd he know buffett would be wearing tie-die shorts....does he know buffett....?

Then bubba looks my way...he starts to talk and he says hey Bill....my name is bill....why is bubba talking to me....doesn't matter....bubba is talking to me....man these 2nd row seats are paying off...but how'd he notice me. the real tall dude is in our line of sight....did bubba watch me walk in and take an instant liking to me....will he call me up on stage. Will we go surfing together tomorrow...will we be best friends from this point forward....he big tall dude....get out of our way...go get some munchies or something....

Bubba keeps talking to me...he says he hasn't seen me since the basketball game, the one he was thrown out of...hey, wait a minute....the real tall dude is talking back to bubba...doesn't he know Jimmy is talking to me, not him....hey, what's that, oh a spotlight...the tall dude is blocking my light....I'm gonna be on the big screen. Honey, get ready to flash bubba.....Bill Walton, where, where is Bill Walton....the tall dude is in my way....I love Bill Walton.....
