Concert Opening Song?

Here you can discuss any Buffett related topic.

If Jimmy came up to you and said, " Pick a concert opener for the rest of the summer, but it has to be one that has been an opener from the last 7 years", which would you pick?

although it would never happen i would love to see jimmy walk out by himself with his acoustic guitar and just bust right into The Wino And I Know. that would just make my day. and maybe through out the concert play a little brand new country star or maybe even brahma fear. dont get me wrong i love every buffett song but i think if he threw those in there plus a few other ones im sure we could all agree that it would be a great concert. (not like they arent now but i think you know what i mean)...

This one was easy for me...I've thought for a awhile that Lage Nom Ai is his best song if you are talking about openers.

I went with "Great Heart" because thats what I've been getting used to. I consider "Hot Hot Hot" more of a prelude to the actual start of the concert. "Door Number Three" was the coolest opener I've ever seen ( from the lawn in Cincy '96 ) but if I had to pick the ultimate opener it would be "Makin Music For Money", what a logical and perfect first song choice! Mix it up though Jimmy, to be able to predict the first song of every show is weak!

I came across a concert from 1986 in Gainesville (for Gator Growl- UF Homecoming) where Robert Greenidge does some steel drum magic, then blends into African Friend having Jimmy pick up the second verse. Crowd goes nuts. One of the coolest I have heard. The concert is available on http://buffett.ontheweb.nu/. Enjoy!

Castro is still playing in Cuba, but the homefield advantage isn't what it used to be.

I went with One Particular Harbor because I love it... but I will admit that I also like it as an "And now we are going to take a 15 minute break intermission" send off. 8) 8)

OPH is my most favorite song of all time. So I picked that as my favorite concert opener. I'd also pick it as my favorite concert closer. Jimmy has been closing out his 1st set w/ it. I think it's bigger than that. Bigger than Volcano and Margaritaville. I love them all, but OPH has the charisma and the mentality... But Bubba knows best....

I was leaning toward Great Heart or OPH (good up-tempo songs) but I went with the least popular choice... Only Time Will Tell.

...will it ever make sense, will it ever ring a bell, only time will tell ooh, ooh...

Not that it matters, as long as I'm still coherent and at the show!!!

He opened his show in Raleigh on the tour that preceded the release of Banana Wind with "Makin' Music for Money".

In the list of openers in the poll, Little Feat's "Time Loves a Hero" is missing. If I'm not mistaken he opened with it on last year's tour.

I went with hot hot hot, I like something to get the crowd going at first. Also just in case I'm not settled yet, I don't want to miss any of my favorites.... a little selfish I know
