Merriweather Tips...

Oki doki. Merriweather is a tough nut to crack, because the security is never consistent from year to year. My guess is that since Jimmy didn't do MW last year, that security will probably be on the strict side this year. The venue will expect to mandate the same rules as it has for all of it's events... All this means is that we need to be a bit more persistent!
#1 - They will think that they are going to open the gates at 4pm. That is until we bug them constantly. If enough of us pile up on the gates around 3pm, we're sure to get in. MW has two main entrances... 1 is at Broken Land Parkway and the other is right off of Little Patuxent Parkway across from the mall next to Symphany Woods. MW
WILL open the gates if they feel that the overabundance of ParrotHeads are going to potentially cause a traffic problem for Howard Coutny PD. So let's make sure we're there in full force around 3-ish.
#2 - The local parking lots for pre-tailgating are tough to figure out. If you're thinking Columbia Mall... FORGET IT! Mall security has been down right inpenetrable since about 1998. You won't last a half hour.
Here are the spots you can usually get away with:
- The top deck of the Sheraton parking garage. Security will come through about every 1/2 hours, but they usually just wave to you and drive on.
- There is a parking lot just east of the Sheraton garage. It borders along a townhome community. Stay as close to the townhome community as possible. The cops will only bug you if you're loitering in the main lot there (which I think is a business park area).
- Sometimes you can get away with the parking lot out front of Clyde's restaurant, which is between the Sheraton and the Symphany Woods entrance to MW. Be careful, as this is a high-profile area and a lot of county cops will patrol it.
Always be ready to go mobile!
Me and my friends will be rolling in around 11am or so. We'll be at MW, and then a day of recouperation before Nissan on Saturday! We'll be in a black X-terra, so if ya see us, make sure you stop by! PHinz Up!!!
Ooooh, I'm physched! Let me know if this info helped!

Hello gentlemen(and any fellow ladies who may have come along) - I hope we are in for a good one tonight; so sorry Matt is having to miss so much of his favorite activity - life as a parrothead should be easy but not always I guess.
I would love to hear Manana again, Bamafan. I have switched from my usual tequila to rum tonight in hopes of shaking up the setlist.
Have a great show everybody
