Actually, I think Honeydo is being kind when describing the Key Largo as "cheesy' it really is an old apartment building converted to a overflow hotel that only awakens when Buffett is in town. It may be a Springtime phenomona that is given life by the LA Parrot head club. We don't regret staying there in April but the MGM or San Remo may be in the cards for us in September. Hey Pirate Parrot is John and Cowboy coming to vegas?

Pirateparrot, I met John and Terry (Cowboy?) at the last party, but didn't get to meet you. I saw you dancing and having a good time and John asked me to guess your age. Gotta say, I was surprised with the answer because I guessed about 12 years younger than you actually are (unless John was lying about your age). They were really nice and I'm looking forward to meeting you too this time!

My agent was able to get me a room at MGM (emeral tower) for a $300 total (Fri, Sat and Sun night). So, if you have the time or know of a travel agent, it may be worth it to check it out.....Good Luck all.....

I found no great deals but I'm still partial to the Flamingo. The pool chair guy is a friend of mine and always saves me lounges in prime location. Another thing noone ever mentions is Carnival Court outside Harrah's. Its the closest thing you'll prolly find to a tiki bar. The place rocks every night of the week and they have the best ranked flair bartender in the world. I watched one bartender stack 5 layers of full drinks and 5 layers of liquor bottles, balance them on his forehead, walk around the whole circular bar, then proceed to buy everyone there a shot. Now that's good free entertainment!!

Well, I have not yet made reservations any place, but will do so soon - before prices get any higher. Poolboy Bob you are too funny...........but absolutely right! There are plenty of hotels in the vicinity of MGM if it's too pricey there. We'll see what happens.
Scoman - I think I said something about too bad you won't make it to vegas this time, (maybe under one of the other threads - not sure) then I heard a rumor that you were the guy dissing Tommy Rocker's and the LVPHC, so I take that back.

If it wasn't you or you'd like to give it another shot, then nevermind!
Have not heard anything around town on when the tix for here go on sale but will let you all know when I hear something!
Happy Fathers Day to any dad's!

Atlanta PH - where did you get the $179 at MGM? That's not bad cause when I called it was $250!

I think these guys like cheesy!

But that's okay - go where the partying is.
PP - get enough people and the cost is not that much at the other hotels! If I geg a cheap/free room at the NY NY, maybe I'll invite ya over!

Okay Pirate sweetie

- I have to tell ya, while visiting the pool area at the Key Largo, which was fun, I went to a friends room to visit and I was NOT impressed. Maybe that's why I was looking into the MGM - the rooms are way nicer. And yes I know you only spend a few hours sleeping there. But if you are too scared to fall asleep for fear that something may crawl in your bed - and I mean something with more than two legs cause the two legged things are generally wecome - then it's a scary thing!
But I am a trooper and will go where the party is. If that's where it will be, then I may head that way. I'll just bring along my fly swatter and raid - or maybe get some big hunky guy to take care of those things for me!

We shall see. If I have enough cocktails than ALMOST anything goes!

As far as tips; don't take the cheapest red-eye flights! It is worth the extra cash to be able to sleep in and do some recovery time with everyone the day after the show. Oh, and if you're gonna be drinking Corona don't forget your bottle opener.
I got my ticket by going on-line and crossing my fingers. Then left my ticket at home (with my bottle opener) and crossed my fingers again that someone would have an extra ticket. Phin power was with me that day!
