i think it is in an unnofficial rule book somewhere, that as a parrothead, you can't be shy and a bufett phan also. something about bringing out the beast, or is that the best in you.
anyway lisa in las vegas, just don't look down when you introduce yourself to any new phriends at any shows you go to.

I have been to 2 shows at Great Woods. Sorry, Alpine Valley is better (in my humble opinion). Both the lot and the venue are better.
I've also seen him in Chicago (Poplar Creek and World), Indy, St. Louis, Vegas, Tampa Bay, and Milwaukee (Summerfest). None come close to Alpine. (I'd have to say GW was 2nd best).

since i've only seen him in vegas and phoenix, i cant judge other cities for the shows. however, if you could combine the vegas pre concert festivities with the phoenix show, all my tingly parts would be tingling. Is there a Utah parrotheads group?

Ok...realistically, the best lots are gonna bring the best parties. At GW, the cops are mellow as well as the rental police. The venue almost always opens the lot prior to the "official" time. In all the years that I have gone to JB at GW, i have not witnesses a fight, even though, as we all know, we're talking major spirit consumption. People are laid back and accepting of whatever comes their way.
So, my point is that if you're local venue has this kind of atmosphere, then it WILL BE A GREAT PARTY!!! Since I have only gone to GW since I have 4 'keets and spend most of the summer doing their activities, I have no opinion of other venues!
Remember, it's all about the fun...

I hope to have a Buffett travelogue someday, but to date I've only been to Alpine, and have been perfectly happy there.
I hear so many great things about so many great venues, and it's Jimmy after all, so I'm certain they are ALL the BEST!!! From what I've heard, I think Great Woods is a must "someday I will" to confirm it's worth all the buzz (like it wouldn't be!
). And Vegas... and Irvine... But I sooooooooo wish I would have seen him at MOTM last year, with St Somewhere at Margaritaville on Halloween, and then on Duval Street - I mean, geez! What could be better?

OK....Who has been to both Great Woods and Cincy(i have never been to GW)...Which is the best of those two...hard to believe any place tops the birthplace of parottheads(cincy)

Even after finally doing some road trips this year I'd say Atlanta is still my favorite (with Vegas being a
very close second simply because of the plane ride). Probably have to rework the list again if I get to go to Great Woods in August.

BEST: CINCY HAS A LEGENDARY BUFFETT VIBE!!
HONORABLE MENTION: CHICAGO;DEER CREEK ( JUST BECAUSE OF THE BEAUTIFUL SCENERY AND SURROUNDING CAMPGROUND..UNLESS YOU PREFER TAILGATING PRE AND POST SHOW IN A GIANT ASPHALT PARKING LOT WITH A BUNCH OF SECURITY

I've only seen Jimmy in three venues. St Louis, Chicago, and Dallas. Dallas was the best out of those three. I've heard that Vegas is pretty good and I would like to go to a show there

My honest answer is...Whatever City I'm currently IN.....therefore I'll vote SD, because that's where I live and Great Woods is over 3,000 miles away!

Great Woods -- hands down. Been to nine other locations. Las Vegas is second. Haven't been to Cincy or San Diego...

I've only seen Jimmy in Houston and Palm Beach, of which Houston is better. However it does not seem to come close to some of the more infamous venues.

anyone here been to a show in florida? if i move down there for school, i'm curious how the scene is down there? lots of good clean fun i hope for parrot heads!
