Yes, saw you on the screen - our tiki bar also made it on the video. If you saw the guy that had the hat with Patrick the starfish from Sponge Bob Square pants on it, we were right by him all day. Had a name tag on that said "That Guy - 7LORDS" on it and many people commented that they have seen my posts - just didn't run into any of the regulars, I guess.

Hopefully, I'll have some good action pics of the tiki bar that I can post later. MANY copmments on it all day long and lots of people pointing when we went to set it up - went from a bunch of flat wood to a very solid, 3/4" finished plywood bar in less than 30 seconds. We were serving up drinks all day long and the tip jar that someone put out actually got pretty full. I was a little reluctant to bring it with the morning rains but the weather was great and all went well.
I guess I should have qualified that as the dancing Tiki Bar on the screen... I saw Patrick and your bar up there too! Wherabouts were you located? We left much later than anticipated, and the busdriver took the LONG WAY (still crabby about that - probably added 45 minutes to trip :x ), so we were farther back in the lot than I would have liked, and jammed in like sardines. I went up to numerous rv's with flags and bars asking for you, but had no luck.

I had a lot of people ask where my tip jar was too, and some people just threw money down on the bar.. I had one last year just for the effect and it actually filled up, but I didn't bring it this year.

Hi 7Lords!

Totally missed you and your group, although we did look and found a ton of people having fun and enjoying the weather! Including our neighbors, Steve and the crew fom Michigan. You guys ever finish all 100 hot dogs?

From the shot on the video you had a quite a set up. Maybe next year, you'll have to issue GPS coordinates.

We sat in the lawn near the main lodge. It did get a bit crowded, but nothing rowdy. The sound was terrible to start with, but then got better quickly.

I thought the song selection was good and -- as mentioned in other posts on this board --no matter what songs are played, there will always be others people wish Jimmy would have played instead.

Can we start the countdown to next year's show?

Wherabouts were you located?
One of our RVs was in the first row and the other 2 were behind it, where we set up in what would have normally been an aisle. The parking people sort of screwed up the parking by us and there wasn't really an aisle - it was more of a circle. If you went to the double decker bus and walked in from there, that's where we were.

Thanks for starting this thread to really rub in what I missed out on this year. So how was it this year getting into Alpine? Last year they had one gate open and it took us close to an hour to get in there and we missed out on a couple of songs. Has this been improved???

Alpine was great of course. But I think next year, I am actually going to have to pay the extra money for a pavillion seat. Way to many ignorant non-parrotheads in the lawn around me. Much rather spend the extra money for a good seat, then have to worry about going to jail over beating the crap outta some idiot.

Bummer! We were toward the front right of the side stage for the most part, but I was in back talking to the 3 shakers of salt (last year's alien girls) for a little bit too. Wish I would have seen ya!

It wasn't off... it was just untied in back, so anytime she moved, you saw her... um... dimples! Unless you weren't looking at her face.

Got married there!!!

Post by Chu »

Well I have to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Tiki Gods who made the weather beautiful on Saturday! My new husband and I got married in the parking lot around 3:30 in the afternoon...all went well. We had Parrotheads singing the wedding march as I walked down the "aisle" and also everyone clapped and cheered when we were done!

If anyone was there to witness our big day, thanks for being there! You truly made it a day to remember forever!

The Bride... :D

mrrumpunch... that is just wrong! c'mon, a beach ball? at least give a warning 1st, don't just yank someone out of 2nd row center for goodness sakes over a beach ball! That's still bothering me, and it wasn't even me!

Chu... congratulations on your nuptuals! How cool was that?!?! I've seen and heard of a lot of stuff at Buffett tailgates, but never a wedding! How could I have missed it?

Does anyone else feel a little sad about how much they miss in the parking lots? I had a great time and all, but I hate to miss anything, and I barely touched the surface of the days happenings. I really think they need to open up at like 9am so you have time to see everything, or better yet, start on Friday! Give us a full 24 hours to soak it all in!

Does anyone know, does Jimmy walk the parking lot before the show? We were walking around and walked right by this guy that I swear was the big man himself. He had sunglasses on so I couldn't see his eyes but from what I could see of the rest of his face it sure looked like him. The only thing is he appeared to be alone, no muscle around in case he got mobbed. Maybe they were hanging back to make it not look so obvious???
