I too am sorry to hear about the bad experiences, this year and last. I've just been lucky I guess, because I've met lots of great people that seem worthy parrotheads, I've had no problems getting through the gates in a timely manner, and we have had good people in the lawn around us.
My only aggravation was the attempted hijacking of my tiki bar shortly after we arrived. Lots of people ask if they can take pictures with me (Karin - where were you?

) which is perfectly fine with me. But this guy begged me to let him try it on for a picture. I hadn't ever had that request, but figured why not - it's easy enough to get in and out of. So his buddies take his picture, and then he starts dancing around with it. I told him I had to go because I was trying to catch up with my friends, and he ignores me and keeps dancing around with it.

I'm like dude, I gotta go, can I have my bar back, and he starts running away!

It was a good thing that chairs, grills, coolers, and people were jammed in like sardines in our row, because I could quickly catch him and tackle him!

Ok, I didn't really tackle him, but I was afraid I might have to for a minute!
So he couldn't maneuver away quickly enough, and my evil eye got him to give up my bar, and I don't think he even said thank you, the punk! He must have thought the torches were ski poles, because he wiggled them out of their supports, and I had technical difficulties with them the rest of the day, the bastard! Fortunately, there were plenty of helpful pholks willing to help secure them periodically as needed.
That minor setback wasn't nearly as bad as what some of you had to endure, though. Just don't let the few bad apples spoil the possibilities of future good Alpine times. Maybe they were getting extra primed in anticipation of dealing with the threatened thunderstorms.
