Alipne Review
Hey 7Lords,
Congrats on the 100 posts!
Interesting reading about the number of those who couldn't keep their stomach contents contained. I wonder what a "younger" concert act draws to the lot?
Maybe we went in too early (around 6), but had no problems getting through the gates (except the lines were so short we had to drink our "take-alongs" a bit quicker than anticipated).
Nice photo on your web site, 7Lords. Must be nice to be that uninhibited!

Another great time at Alpine, the best. I saw Speedo guy, he was right next to our bunch. (We had the orange "Booby Meter"). we also were right next to the "very buff(steroid) boys", with the kick A** stereo.
Also saw & got pic of the topless lady, didn't notice the bottom!!
The best was when I ran into Karin in the beer line inside just b4 the show!! Haven't seen her since the BN gang went to FT Lauderdale in 2001!!! Unreal, good to see ya!

Lake Geneva surprised me a little. Friday was pretty slow, and the Buffett crowd wasn't really out. Saturday wasn't much better. Once again, still was a great time. Probably won't stay at Harbor Shores again. That place was dead.
Had my grill slolen, which sucked as well.
Overall, great time. Might have to make the Chicago show although I hate Tinley Park. Might be the all time worst place to see Jimmy.
Finally, I got to make out with one of the hottest ParrotHeads I've ever come across during the concert, and somehow I've managed to lose her number. If anyone knows a great looking girl who made out with a guy with a Flowered Corona shirt and Corona Visor, email me. That was 10 times worse than getting the girl stolen!!!!!
Fins UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of curiosity - why do you hate Tinley Park? I've seen Jimmy there past 3 years in a row and thought it was great - good crowd, etc. (although no Great Woods!)Shark22 wrote:C

One thing I noticed this year was fights! I've been to about 15 Buffett concerts, and I can't ever remember seeing a fight. Maybe I was just in the wrong spot, but thats a Buffett NO-NO."
Alpine is one of the few venues I would not go back to for this exact reason. Although the tailgating was good and most people were friendly the fighting left a bad taste in my mouth. I have never seen a fight at any other venue. It's too bad

shark22, i've gotta agree with you about Tinley being one of the least favorite places to see him. jimmy should have two shows at Alpine and one at Tinley!
but you can actually tailgate from 3:30 until 7, 7:30 (or as long as you can keep the security kids away) in the parking lot. we always camp out about a mile away and start the tailgate there until around 4 and pick up and head over and continue it in the parking lot. you can always join the people on the side of the road until the parking lot opens too, sometimes that's actually half the fun. i still have fun and none of us in our group have ever been involved in a fight, although we've helped to break up several which is a sad thing that it even needs to be done in the first place.

We went to Alpine and had a great time - no problems or hassles. We were close to the wedding and talked to them before and after, but were wondering during the acutal wedding. We also saw the family with the green tee shirts with the "show me your tits" stuff on them. They said were were only the second people from BN to say hi. Also saw the seedo guy (that was the days low point). Met lots of great people, but could not find and other BNers during our wonderings thru the parking lots. Only minor problem was we lost my bother inside the venue before the concert started and didn't see him again until back at the car (but hey he's over 50 and can take care of himself).
We will also be going to Tinley in August and have been going for serval years. and tailgating is allowed there for Buffett concerts. We have been tailgating there every year with no problems. We usually get there about 3 p.m. and the lot is always at least 1/3 full and tailgating is in full swing.
