Not going but will thinking of all of you who are. It is the start of a week off of work and a drive to South Florida for a week on the beach. So, Bloody Mary's will be greeting the day and the TV will be tuned in. I must admit, I'm getting excited about the show and looking forward to it...

I've never seen the Today Show, but I noticed today it's on 7am-10am round these parts. Will Jimmy be on any particular time or times, or do I have to record the whole show on the slower speed, lesser quality setting?
Today Show always puts the concert on from 8:30-9:00 and then there's usually one more song at the end (about 9:45). But you should watch starting at about 7:30 - they will play his music when cutting to commercials, etc. They will be interviewing the phans when they do the weather. They might even (I'm hoping) do a little segment on the PH phenomenon and interview Jimmy! There will likely not be any phooling around from 7-7:30 - that's when they do the serious news.
I've been enjoying all week how they've been plugging the concert, playing Buffett music, and calling the PHs for a phlocking!

Anyone have any idea of the address where the plaza is as well as where I might park for the day??? I am heading in from PA and will be driving, so I will need a place to park while waiting to see the show. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to make the trip last year, but was not able to, so this year I want to be sure to get there without too much worries.

Today Show is on 49th street between 5th and 6th avenues. It's about a mile from Penn Station, where NJ Transit lets you off. Penn Station is at 7th avenue and 33rd street. So just walk 16 blocks north and 2.5 blocks east.
There are lots of NJ Transit lines that you could take - go to njtransit.org for schedules. I'm sure a lot of the NJ stations have parking lots, but not sure which exactly.
Also, if you take Amtrak instead of NJ Transit, you could also get off at Grand Central Station which is on Lexington and 42nd (I think). It's about the same distance from Today Show, but a much nicer walk - you'd go 7 blocks north and 3.5 blocks west.
If you drive, I have NO idea about where to park in the neighborhood, but be prepared to pay $40-$50 as it's in the heart of the tourist area. But you could come in at night and then listen to the concert, then do a little touring around Rockefeller Center and leave at about noon to avoid traffic. (Definitely leave by 3 to avoid traffic).

For those who are going. . Have a Great time! It’s one of those things you are glad you did. . .
once!
I went two years ago. . .
We took the 10pm train into NYC. .
note to self. . remember knife for lime for train ride! Peeling did not work well!!
As soon as we got to Rockefeller Plaza
- We immediately got in line. . stood behind Keith
and right in line right in front of people I went to High school with. .(hadn’t seen them for years!)

Ran into someone I used to work with. .
And I met Mr. and Mrs. Clairebert! (where have you guys been!)
An hour or so later - they started putting us into corrals. . The earlier you got there did not necessarily mean you got the best spot. . People in front of us were behind the stage. .
This was our pod. .
Another thing - once you are in your pod - you cannot leave because security won't let you back in.
Unless you totally s*** up to them. .
and they will let you out to use the
one bathroom in the deli across the street!!
And then. . you wait. .
and wait. .
and wait . . .
This helped pass the time!
Around 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. they started to set up. .

You can barely see her - but Tina is on stage warming up. .
Then you wait. .
and wait some more. .
You could watch what goes on during commercials. .
And then Jimmy
finally comes on to play
3 songs!
The Today show photographers did come around and take pictures - which you can buy - but they will be up on the website to view a few days after the show!
Anyway - The crowd was HUGE. .
Jimmy did Fins. .
Here is a pic of David Bloom
We went to an Irish Bar and had Margaritas for Breakfast -
So. . all in all. . A very fun - but very l o n g night!
I am glad I did it
once. . who know's. . I may just get up and catch an early train in tomorrow. . .

Thanks so much Karin! I am getting ready to head over there now. But I'm having a HARD time staying awake already, and was thinking of bailing... my non-PH husband encouraged me to look on BN to get inspired and keep up the energy! I'm sure work tomorrow will be ABSOLUTE HELL

, but I'll have my happy memories of 3-4 songs

Hopefully my energy will pick up once we get over there.
Thanks again!
