What does jimmy mean to you?
Put here what jimmy means to you!!
For me, i started listening to him 13 years ago so i was 13 at the time. my older sisters were in college and they gave me a tape of songs you know by heart. they knew i loved the ocean and boats, etc., so i instantly fell in love with the music. through the years i have grown to respect him as a human being. to me he is an exscape, i live in ohio right now with dreams of one day owning a sailboat down in floriday. i put his music on and i am instantly transported to havana, the keys, or anywhere the stories in his music take me.

Jimmy's music is my escape. My husband and I first started listening to his music about 10yrs ago. We went to our first concert in 1998(Alpine) and haven't missed once since. 2yrs ago I was dx'd with leukemia and since then his music has taken on a whole different meaning to me. Put a cd in and I'm able to forget what turn my life has taken and it never fails to bring a smile to my face and lifes my spirits!!

Great stories. I can't really put in words what he has done for me. Life changing stuff. My ex girlfriend of mine would see me in a crabby mood, and say "Did you listen to your daily Buffett today? Because I don't think you did crabby". She was always right. JB on, and the mood instantly changes.
Lupy, You can beat it!!! My 13 year old brother had a brain tumor removed in Nov. Not the same, but all the crap he is going through is unbelievable. So stay positive and fin power coming your way from Idaho...

I see Jimmy as a great man, and an incredably smart man. His music never fails to put me into a good mood and transport me to Margaritaville. His music is a HUGE part of my life, and it also helps a lot in steering my life. I just cant explain what Jimmys personality and his music mean to me.
Jimmy has a fan base that I am amazed by, and so glad to be a part of. Parrotheads are simpily some of the best people I have ever known, and I like them even more every day. One thing that I absolutely love is running into a Parrothead Ive never met, mentioning Jimmy, and then being able to talk to them like a best freind for hours on end. It is amazing that Jimmy can be responsible for creating somthing like that!
Jimmy Buffett is one of the most important people and beliefs in my life.

To me Jimmy is all the things listed above. But even more important is he has brought together the worlds greatest fans. They have also been life changing. The friendships and experiances that come with being a Parrot Head are of a very special kind. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

First off-Good luck and phin power and prayers to both Lupy and Finsup's brother!!
I guess Jimmy's music has taught me not to take life so seriously. "Don't sweat the small stuff". I can always find a smile on the worst days if I listen to his music. It also can "Take me away" even better than Calgon can! I also admire Jimmy's commitment to the enviroment and other special causes. Not to mention he has a great business mind - Where else in the world could you do what he does for a living and make that much money!! Go Jimmy!!!
Also, he really seems to appreciate his phans!

I discovered Jimmy as a sophomore in high school. I bought SYKBH, then Feeding Frenzy, and it was all downhill from there. His music has gotten me through some tough times (nothing as serious as others have posted here--Phin power to Lupy!!!).....I never would have gotten through the stress of graduate school without the escape of his music. The song "Love and Luck" sort of became my mantra to help me get through that experience. His songs always lift me up when I am down, and I know that no matter what life brings, I can always escape to Margaritaville, if only for a little while.

Jimmy has always been a part of my life growing up, my whole family it seemed listened to him. But after awhile it seemed that they just drifted in music taste, except for my Grandmother. So when she died last year at this time I threw myself into his music and really started listeing again for the first time it seemed. It's been excellent therapy.
One thing we all have in common is that without Jimmy Buffett, we wouldn't have ended up on here.

That's what Jimmy Is To Me.
First Off, hello to all youz guyz. I am Scott Rockwell of The Fiesta Brothers. I just joined the board so I'm a "new keet" (god I'm so ashamed!).
Anyhoo, heard my first Jimmy album in 1974, way before I knew what Rock & Roll was. Ya remember? Back in the days when a top of the line Winebago came with a 8 track tape and a built in onboard quadrophonic sound system. Through over 9 years of living in Pt. Loma, a beach town in San Diego, & 10 years vacationing in the So Cal deserts during my youth. Coupled with over 12 years and 20,000 miles of travel in the Baja Peninsula, I develped a deep emotional connection with jimmy's words and music. My brother learned how to play acoustic guitar around 12 years old. I think the first Buffett song we ever played all the way through was The Great Fillin' Station Hold Up. Since then Jimmy has layed down the soundtrack to our lives and advenutres. and that connection continues today.
I Love Jimmy. Plain and simple. I'm the guy who is not afraid to shed tears of joy at one of Bubba's shows.
And Just like the song, life is just a tire swing: "Who woulda' figured, 20 years later I'd be rubbin shoulders with the stars..."
Our life long love of Jimmy's music has culminated into what has become The Fiesta Brothers. We don't like to refer to ourselves as a Parrothead band, but more like a "Island-Buffett Specialty Act". I will leave the critiquing up to those who wish to do so. We encourage it by the way! : ).
We just celebrated Our 1st year out on the scene and thanks to a little Love & Luck we have had an explosive first year. We truly owe the the massive exposure To Pam Cochran of The Inland Parrothead Empire. She saw us play at a Lake Elsinore Storm Baseball game and that all it took. Pam called Mike Mclain In L.A., the Nellie over in Orange County, we have manage to reach as far east as Vegas, and the best part is, we are going back! We have met &/or played with the Following Coral Reefers since we began last year:
Mike Utley
Fingers Taylor (Irvine)
Doyle Grisham
TC Mitchell
Robert Greenidge
Tina Gullickson
Julse Harkness
So Jimmy's continued success has thrust us into the entertainment industry. I am primarily The Harmony vocal, which accompanies the lead 99% of the time. For the curious, we have sound clips on our site!
Truly,
Scott T
