What a great idea! I could care less if I hear Cheeseburger, Autour De Rocher, & Hokey-Pokey, although sometimes they are a nice change of pace.

Here's some personal phlops:

1. Only time will tell
2. Off to see the Lizard
3. Meet me in Memphis
4. Atour du Rocher ..... (This wouldn't be on my list if Bubba had not tried to explain everything with the speech before and in the middle of the song. Sometimes less is more, you know?!)

This is indeed a great thread! :D

Your list seems faily typical,
I just can't believe how many folks dislike Cheeseburger though! It amazes me! :o

The only song I definitely "dislike" is Hokey Pokey, I don't know what
Bubba was thinking there.

But HOLY COW, Creola, Cowboy in the Jungle, Boat Drinks!
And I like Autour Du Roche. :D

Just One Parrotheads Opinion!

I enjoy hokey pokey musically, in the same style that i enjoye "you call it jogging" and "spending money" "Skip whiley"

"baby's gone shoppin" "Meet me in Memphis" are fun pop songs

I do not like Math Suks at all though and "overkill" just sounds bad when he tries I guess rap.... oh Jimmy what were you thinking....

In general it doesn't work when he "talks" I prefer that he did not... Autour is ok, I like the funky sound and it's different for him.... but it's not great
He ruins Mexico with his talking....

That's funny abou Autour Du Rocher. I like his humor in the song. And I love what he is saying in Overkill. But sometimes I think I could do with all the SYKBH. But as I stated earlier in this thread the ONLY Buffett song I will NOT listen to at all is Elvis Imitators. I heard it once and it hurt my ears.

I dunno...I just don't like it. The story it tells is OK...reminds me of Tully Mars, but I don't like the way it sounds and....

It almost seems, if you wanted to see it this way, that JB's looking down his nose at us. When I say us, I mean those people who are "Tryin' to cram lost years into five or six days".

That's how I have to be as a middle class schlub. I get 1 week a year to relax and let it go. I do have to cram it all into that week. The line just rubs me the wrong way...hence the song rubs me the wrong way.

Please forgive me.
See I look at that part of the song as pitying the folks that work hard all their lives and never learn how to have fun , so after they retire they
all flock together, hang out and tell each other how much fun we are having
on our (PHs that is) limited time off we KNOW how to enjoy life and have fun, plus we (as a rule) are not so tunnelvisioned that we never learn how
to have fun. Anyway thats my take on cowboy. 8)
