I bought the 1.75 ml at Sam's Club Saturday night for $8.88... I somehow didn't manage to crack it open yet however... busy all day Sunday with kids activities. :roll: But tonight is open!

btw - as hoped, I cracked open the bottle of Bacardi Hurricane last night, and poured 2 tall strong ones! (1/2 a bottle's worth! :oops: ) Tastes good, and has a bit of a kick! Has a good beat, and you can dance to it! I give it an 8!

PINK HURRICANE
If you don't have frozen yogurt on hand for this recipe, substitute regular yogurt and ice cubes.

2 cups seedless watermelon chunks
4 scoops vanilla frozen yogurt

Combine the watermelon chunks and frozen yogurt in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Serves 1.

Maybe a little lime in the drink would cut some of the sicky-sweet out. I need an emoticon here that sticks it's tongue out and frowns. :D

:oops: So was I, and I failed miserably! :oops: :D :P And I call myself a bar!!!

In response to AF, I did some more googling, and came up with this from webtender.com...

Hurricane Leah

* 1/4 oz Light rum
* 1/4 oz Gin
* 1/4 oz Vodka
* 1/4 oz Tequila
* 1/4 oz Blue Curacao
* 1 dash Cherry brandy
* 3 oz Sour mix
* 3 oz Orange juice
that seems more like an electric lemonade

From the bartender (me):

1oz - light rum (Bacardi)
1oz - dark rum (Myers)
1/2oz - banana liquor (Jaquins)
1/2oz - blackberry brandy (Jaquins)
4oz - OJ
4oz - Pineapple Juice
1oz - Grenadine
garnish with orange slice and cherry, or pineapple slice, or your choice of fruit[/quote]

edit: because I realized I gave you the recipe for a rum-runner, cancel the banana and blackberry

I have a variation of the Hurricane, and it is really simple and quick to do. I call it Matt's Mountain Hurricane.

Fill glass with ice
2 Jiggers Southern Comfort or Dark Rum
1/2 can of Mountain Dew
Splash of Grenadine

Ahhhhh. you guys are trying too hard:

One big bottle of Rhum (Cruzan Lite, Bacardi, whatever);
one can Hawaiian Punch Red; one jar cherries.

mix em all in hurricane glass over ice to your own tolerance (add cherry and juice for ambiance)

fire up CD player.

Be sure to pin note on shirt where to ship the body.

1.warm ocean water

2. Evaporated sea water

3. A wind pattern must be near the ocean surface to spirals air inward. Bands of thunderstorms form, allowing the air to warm further and rise higher into the atmosphere.

4.If the winds at these higher levels are relatively light, this structure can remain intact and grow stronger:

5. A Hurricane!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't help myself :D

It's simpler than some others, which is perfect for tailgating.

In a typical approx 12 oz glass...ingredients should cold.
1 Jigger 151 rum
(make a little stronger if you like)
1 Jigger Sweet and Sour
fill glass most of the way with Pinnapple-Orange juice. The premixed stuff in the carton from Minute Maid or whomever works great.
Blender is good here, 'cuz the sweet and sour will froth up a little if you whip it. But its not required.
Add a little crushed ice, just to thicken it and for keeping it chilled.
Float about 1 TBSP of Grenadine on top, sinks to the bottom. If you have it frothy is sinks much slower.

My gawd, this is gooooood!

Me and the missus are celebrating Jones Beach tickets with a couple (or six) of these right now...hoo-wee, tasty!

We had all of this stuff in the house for planter's punch, but never thought to add the amaretto. :P

Thanks!

When UGA went to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, we ordered a case of Hurricane mix from Pat O'Brien's .... http://www.patobriens.com All you have to do is add the rum.

BUT now that these premixed hurricanes are out by Barcardi with the 151 rum, we have converted! And we can buy the 1/2 size here in GA for about $9.50 :P

But careful, as they really are easy to down, and then sneak up on you!
