(there'll is an actual word, right??) be one?

I really don't think JB will be playing Jb this year, he already did the Long Island show in Southampton, at the Southampton show he said "see you next year" I think the Long Islanders already got their Jimmy Buffett Show.

I was there last year when Ron Delsner brought a reluctant JB onstage with the Mrs and made mention of how tough it was to get JB to play there. I think venue size was a reason. For 2003 I heard from an unreliable unnamed source that Tommy Hilfiger & Jimmy don't get along.
I don't like TH running the theater let alone putting his name on it. For years I've had the pleasure of seeing JB @JB but alas it seems no more.

When this years schedule was first posted on Jimmy's web site, Jones Beach was listed. However, at one of the years early shows Jimmy mentioned that there would be changes to the schedule due to logistical problems. Within a week or two Jones Beach was removed. There has also been speculation that he would play the Garden around the time of his book's release, though that doesn't seem to be going to happen either.

Tommy Hilfiger has nothing to do with Jones Beach other than writing a big check to get the title sponsorship for the season...And getting alot of tickets in return. Delsner books all the acts, leases the venue from the state and runs the day to day operations. His wife even runs the VIP and season subscription department. So I don't think that has anything to do with Jimmy not playing there this year. I'm sure it was just a case of trying to please as many people in different parts of the country as possible.

That and somehow he forgot Cincinatti which was added to the schedule once Jones Beach was ommitted.
NYC Port is correct. Tommy Hiliger has nothing to do with day to day operations of the venue. It's only a sponsorship deal.

Okay I'll accept Tommy not being the big cheese. Still with all due respect to the rest of the country, if JB don't play JB then he's blowing off the whole Empire State. Hell he only lives an hour & change from the Beach. Bottom line- if it's the only venue you play in NYS how can you skip it? (i'm not counting the Today Show or Southhampton College which are irregular and not paying gigs. Would JJW blow off Texas- hell no!

Sorry but the truth of the matter is that Cincinnatti is more important than Jones Beach.

How, Cousin Pepe, can YOU say that?!!!
I am mortally wounded!
If you were from around the Nor'east, you would know, Jones Beach is only second to
THE Garden!
Theres terms of phrases here,
THE cithy, meaning NYC or Manhattan, whichever you perfer!
THE Garden, meaning the one & only Madison Square Garden, not the Queens Garden!!
And
THE Beach, meaning the ONE & ONLY JONES BEACH venue!
So there you have it, vous petite de foriegner, vous!!!

Mind you I've never been to Cincy and I know by reputation that you've got some very serious JB fans there. Hell I think Timothy Schmidt coined the phrase ParrotHeads there! Still, Jones Beach is where JB belongs for a summer concert not MSG. I been there and I think I know. BTW wasn't the girl (bait) in Fins running away from Cincy to join the boys on tour?

Don' YOU people's remember what he said at the JB concert?!!!
It always falls on his & Lady Janes Wedding Anniversary!!!!!
That was the 'logistics problem'!!
Timing is everything!
And I do belieeve he was incredibly apologetic to her, and that was why they came out (Delsner I'm pretty sure), bought Lady Jane too, and did a toast to their Anniversary!
And I do beleive JB said this year was going to mark a B-I-G one, so he pretty much said he wasn't going to be at JB this year!
And at the Southampton gig, he said they were ALL on a months vacation!!

"history lesson, history lesson"........

Mon cheire it's not that is saying that it is merely a fact. In the grand scheme of things Cincinnatti is amore imprtant play than Jones Beach.
The beach gets cancelled and what show got added??? Cincinnati.
Funny you say Monty Python. I am looking to book Eric Idle in Eastern Canada. I love NYC. I was there on Sat. don't get me wrong but she came down form cincinnatti it took her 3 days on the bus looking for some paix and quiet.
How are you calling a foreigner ma petite parrothead.
Growing up in Montreal I spent weekends in NY State Lake George, the Catskills, Adirondacks, Plattsburgh, Rouses Point....remove the borders and we are all easterners.
"history lesson, history lesson" it's hard to believe this city started as a trading post...home to the seminole pirate and pioneer" we are not talking about NYC here mon cherie. You think it could be Miami???
Gors bisous...

Mon petite chou,
You are lucky you are as sweet as bon bons, otherwise I'd hit you over la tĂȘte w/a Labatt's!
Argh!!! Cinncinatti.......
Well, at least I GOT to THE S.Hampton gig!
And of course I know "history lesson" refers to Miami!
Can't I at least paraphrase?!! Or is that a No, No too?!!

And yes, mon ami, we are all neighbors, who would even know you were even crossing into another country if it weren't for the border guards harrassing you!!
I do love the Adirondacks!
They are like Heaven on this here Earth!!
Lake Placid is like a wee german town, transported by magic!
Anyway, good luck w/Eric Idle, it should be fun!
I was listening to some music from a band in your country, The Callgarehy Bhoys....
Should you ever book a BNL concert, please send me tix!!
I LOVE those guys!
And I have not seen them around here for a long while.
I think an absolutely outta this world gig would be BNL opening for Dave Matthews Opening for JB!!!!!!!!!

JB used to play Jones Beach every year, but not anymore. As soon as it was announced he would be on the Today Show I knew he wouldn't be playing at the beach. His summer NY shows in the last 6 years, not counting the Southampton College benefits:
1998 - Jones Beach
1999 - Today Show (How could he skip the beach on the Beach House On The Moon tour?)
2000 - Jones Beach
2001 - Today Show
2002 - Jones Beach
2003 - Today Show
It's nice to have a chance to see him for free right across the street from my office but I'd rather see a real show at Jones Beach.
