I was looking for tickets to the Sold Out Auburn show. I did a search and
ended up here. I bought the tickets from someone that posted a note
in the section that says "Did you miss out on tickets? Check out the....."
I saw a post from a guy on there that had 2 lawn tickets for face value.
I called him up, and I was the first one to call! I got the tickets the day
before the show! I came back for about a month just reading some of the
posts, then I jumped in myself!!! :D

This place is COOL! 8)

The night before the Jimmy Today Show in NYC last summer someone mentioned it. That was also the night I met JImmy and I had already told everyone I knew and needed more people to tell! I told my story here and the people were so nice I decided to stay.

That and I heard there was free beer and hot chicks!

Rode out on a rail from the Church of Buffett.

I'm not sure how I found this site either. It may of been through a search engine, a Parrothead web ring or a mention on the COBO. Whatever the case may be, I found my way here and after a little bit of a rocky start (and some encouragement from a certain someone), I found me a home. My first online Buffett discovery was the now defunct Lost Troubadour Society and a listserv (who's name escapes me at the moment), but it is also no longer exists.

I had just come back from a trip to Disney World in the summer of 2002. There were rumors at the time that Disney was opening a new park, and I wanted to know more about it. So, I searched online and found a forum about Disney stuff. There were people secretly taking pictures of new rides and posting on there and stuff. I thought, "what a cool idea"! Then I got to thinking, I like this forum thing. It's also good because my school firewall blocked me from chatrooms. So, I began searching for forums for my two most favorite things in the world.....Tennessee Football and Jimmy Buffett music. I found utvols.com/forums rather quickly, and then typed in "Jimmy Buffett News" on Google. This was the first site that popped up and it looked cool, so I registered under the name "ParrotHeadRob". I visited often and read some almost everyday, but didn't post for a while. I wanted to get my feel for the site and get comfortable with the people first. I only posted 61 times from June to May, and then decided to go along with everybody else and get a more "Buffettesque" name, so I changed it to Bob Roberts, referring to the Bob Roberts' Society Band from Banana Wind; and the fact that my name is Robert, named after my grandfather who was called Bob, and my obsession in many kinds of music (i'm a music major and soon to be music teacher) like "Society Bands". Since May, I've been posting away and loving every minute of it. This is really the only forum that I ever visit anymore, the only one I really like. I look forward to many more months or even years of happy posting on BN!

Does Feeding Frenzy Page ring a bell with anyone? I think that is what I started reading long ago. I think I was looking for tickets to a show out in Colorado or Las Vegas in 1995 or 1996. Maybe that is too early.

OK here it is.. July 2001... I was looking for reserved tickets to see Jimmy in Alpine.... I found this site after doing a google search.... I thought OK I'll just log on using my first initial last name, because I doubted I'd ever be back here again... almost three years later, I'm a regular poster and have probably the stupidest username on the site....

I was looking for 13 year old girls and crack cocaine, I was mis-informed.

Seriously, I found it off of Margaritaville. Had been reading the posts there and thought everyone sounded like "Buffett Snobs" which is entirely against the lifestyle I signed up for. Read CoBo for a while and didn't like the tone there either. Frankly I do not think every thing after 1978 sucks. I was there then and I've stayed with it, not in the past.

Started reading mid summer before Alpine. Read more and more regularly, posted a time or two as a guest. Signed up as Clinton Bill, but being computer idiot I couldn't figure out how to get back when the company changed my e-mail. Continued to read and read, finally there was a "Songs to get over a lost love..." thread. Being a field of extreme expertise, I jumped in re-registered and gave my two cents worth.

Began full force with the baseball talk in October and got hooked a couple of weeks later when I first visited the MSC. I have not yet been to the "dark side"-Virtual TG, but that is in my plans.

And I plan on being very active in meeting as many of you phruites that I can LYMI

I was looking phor a set-list from the 11-14-01 show, and CoBo didnt have an accurate one, so I ended up looking over here. Then I saw that you could post your opinion on all of Jimmys albums so I joined just so I could say that I liked Last Mango In Paris...Then I saw the concert thread, started talking during concerts and was hooked...THEN I was introduced to the MSC, and I dont think Ive ever gone a day without thinking about BN since then. :D :D :D :D :D

GREAT THREAD!!!! :P :D
