I've heard all the new recordings on Radio M, and in concert parking lots, but I still have no major urge to buy it...what are your thoughts?
Funny you should ask that.

I can't get it up here in Canada. But I have travelled to the US this year to see Jimmy nad have been to numerous recosrd with the intention of buying it. I must of had it my hand a dozen times and each time I out it back.

Why? I don't know. But I thnik I would have bought it if it had Great Heart"

There really wasn't enough on there thatwas new for me to buy it.
Hey!

I can't get it in Canada either!

Course, I live in Florida. I can (and did) get it here.

That is a "gotsta have" as is all his stuff. Got it the day it came out for me and my girl and I will be there on what I thought was Sept. 29th but now is May something to buy the book.

Liked hearing the new versions of old songs...that's always cool.
Question: "And now Kenny Chesney has recorded a beach album." Jimmy's Answer: "It's flattering. Some people say I should be p*** off about it but I'm really not. It's the highest form of flattery, and I'm fine with it."

Although it idd have a lot of the old stuff, I thought it was worth it just for "Everybody's Talking" and the new "Saxophones" and SOASOAS. That said, I waited about 2 weeks before I broke down and bought it. I was struggling with putting out the money for yet another copy of "Come Monday", etc.

Not only did I buy myself a copy but I had to buy my daughter one as well or I would never get to listen to it! :-? We listened to it on the way down and back to the Vegas show in April and very well may do so again in September.

I have to admit I have almost all of these songs on one of the other CDs and yet it's a very nice mix and it's got some great live cuts too.

Yup, I bought it. Can't say that it's one of my more frequently played Buffett cd's though. This double cd set has one cd too many (in my humble opinion).

Of Course, it's part of my always growing Buffett collection. I'd prefer new material, but some of the new versions are pretty cool.

I've got that 'twangy' sound on mine also. I've thought about buying another one just to see if it is the same, but I haven't been able to bring myself to spend the money for it. :pirate:

I bought it, it fun to listen to the new recordings and new versions, but I was disappointed that there were not that many re-mixed songs. I wish it was a double cd with all new remixes, maybe some more live songs from old performances.

It would be if the thread said "Did you buy the new Cd that was released recently" I just figured after 3 months anyone that was gonna own it would own it by now. I dont own it yet  Would it be 30 years to late if I asked who bought "A white sport coat and a pink crustacean"? :P

I really consider this to be a Buffett sampler... I realize that none of us would be satified with the song selection as being all of our favorites, but this is not the best of Buffett. it does have a good amount of the "essentials"

I am wondering why so many rerecordings and live cuts though? I am thinking that it's a record label issue....????

It is also odd that there are songs that clearly predated the box set yet didn't make that cut, yet appeared here...?

Well, in any case it's Buffett and enjoyable, but the ultimate collection it is not....
