BTT!

Another update from Raleigh:

February 3, 2004 - I'm up to 266 applications. I've heard from almost 400 people asking for information. If you're one of them and you haven't applied, please do. If you're wondering how fast it's going then consider that in August I had about 35. That's over 200 in five months. Every single application helps so get yours in. Only 84 to go!

Some states allow you to purchase "sample" tags usually reading "ABC123" I would def buy one of those. If anyone from VA could check and let the rest of us know. I bet they would get 1000's of people buying those.

Yes, they will issue "souvenir" tags but only after they've met the quota for production of the regular tags.

My registration is up in March & I'm going to get a vanity plate.
The PH VA plates take 6 characters & I still haven't found out what I want.......
I'll take this over to the other Buffett plate threads so this can keep on track

VA Parrothead Plate Information

Great news!!! I just had an e-mail from Raleigh and he expects to pass the magic 350 mark today!!!!

He said that the DMV has ordered the sheeting for the plates and that should take about two weeks to get there. Once they have it, they're going to call him and he will deliver all the applications.

So for all of us VA Parrotheads who have already sent in our applications, our Parrothead plates will soon be a reality! And for those of you who haven't sent yours in, well, what the heck are you waiting for?!?!?!

March 3, 2004 - You've done it! After receiving today's mail I now have 355 applications! I knew you could do it. Here's what happens next. I called my contact at the DMV and informed her of our status. She will order the sheeting that they use to make the plates. That will take a few weeks. Once it's in then she will call me and we will schedule a time that I can deliver the applications to her. If you haven't applied then you still have time to get it to me. I'd like to have as many as I can in case there are any issues. There shouldn't be but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I don't know when you'll be able to order souvenir plates or the regular plates from a DMV office. I can only guess it'll be after they have issued the original orders.

I got the email today too as souvenier orderer from IL.
