Thank you to all that have responded, you input has been helpful. Just to clarify a few things before I leave for the Thursday show tonight.

1. This friend of mine does not have a ticket and has no iterest buying a ticket. So there is no ticket being kept from any true Parrotheads.

2. Flippy Cup is a game in which you have two teams lined up across from eachother at a table. Each person has a plastic cup which is filled with a couple ounces of beer. The leadoff man (the one who starts) for each team consume the beer and then put it on the edge of the table and try to flip it so that it lands upside down. Once this feat is accomplished, the next member of the team does the same. Finally once the ancor (the last person) is up, after they flip their cup, the the round is over. The first team whose ancor does this wins. It is a fun game and we all had fun with it at Alpine.

Beer Pong is another great game as mentioned earlier.

Seems like a "waste" of time to miss a show. They've got 364 other daze to do that.

So I guess the question is whether you allow them to just come hang out in the lot with you. Guess that just depends on how responsible they can be, and whether you will have to worry about them getting into any sorta trouble while you're inside for the show.

If it's a girl, may not be the best idea.
If it's a guy who may become beligerent and cause trouble to other people and/or their stuff, leave him home.
If he's an easy going guy that can take care of himself,
won't wander off and leave you worrying whether or not to leave without him, won't leave without you,
if driving seperately won't drive drunk,
if no one else will mess with him,
then it's whatever you and the rest of your group are comfortable with.

Isn't there a diagnosis for people who PLAN to get "wasted"???
While I can certainly feel sympathy for him, I would want no part of babysitting him!!!!!
Leave him home.

:(

Here's a thought:

A) You can get "wasted" on any or all of the 365 days that comprise a year.

B) You have the opportunity to see Jimmy ONCE a year, twice if you're lucky.

I'm sorry, but I can't even comprehend the fact that there's trouble in making a decision. Yes, I'm a big Parrothead, but even if I wasn't, having to decide whether to see a concert or just get F.U.B.A.R instead....hmmm...don't see the logic in that one.

OK, so this guy just wants a safe place to
get plastered. He's probably made a good
choice of venues, since PH's are usually
not baddies, and he can probably pass out
in peace while the rest of your group enjoys
the show.
However, I'm not sure this is fair to the rest,
since you'll be the ones cleaning him up for
the ride home and putting up with his drunken
butt during the tailgate.
I guess it depends on how much love you have
for Mr. Thoughtless Plan-A-Binge. I'd leave him
home with his booze and cable TV.

I'm quoting myself here and disagreeing with myself. I had some to drink last night and read the post I made and was surprised I put that! I agree with everyone else that if he is just going to get wasted and doesn't want to go in, just let it be. Even better that he doesn't have a ticket. I am probably posting too late, I'm sure you are in the lot tailgating. Hope you have a great time!

Well Fellow Parrotheads, this was basically a non issue, because my friend decided not to go at all. I have to say thanks for all the posts. I don't know about the rest you, but I had a great time Saturday.

Until next Time,
