I have to agree with Gringo!! You guys are the most wonderful Parrotheads I have ever met! Being new to BN I was a bit nervous

to meet everyone, but that didn't last long... Thanks for welcoming me into the phlock...
Hope everyone had a wonderful time Saturday. I'll be going through Buffett withdrawal until Alpine 2004, but the memories I have will help me hang on (hang on, hang on). Thanks Raoul...
Second thought... forget withdrawal... Jolena, can't we fit just one more show in this year?? Are you sure your new house is THAT important?? Priorities, girlfriend...

LOL

Of course, Penny....you are the best....and Elrod....what a teddy bear

I caught myself several times today on my ride back to Wisconsin just smiling and chuckling to myself about what an AWESOME weekend I had! It was so great to finally meet BNers in person! Friday at Tom Carey was a blast and Saturday was so much fun. I'm gonna have to plan a road trip this winter. FUN, you were a hoot, we have stay in touch...thank you for your Jello shots

Auntie and AB, I think we should take our singing on the road

I had a great time jamming to tunes and hanging out with you. SMLCHNG and Elrod...thank you for flagging me down at Tom Carey before I kept wandering around after one too many Coronas and thank you also SMLCHNG and AB for keeping me in the loop about meeting up to caravan over to the show. IUP, I am ready for another upside down margarita girl! IF, you are such a friendly person, I'm happy you introduced me to Lone Palm! SchoolGirl...what a heart of gold! Zero and SirGumby...I'll have to buy you both another rum and coke sometime. You guys rock! Gringo, you were too funny after the show

Phat Matt, I liked your hat! You people are cool! I have tried not to leave anyone off this post that I spent time talking to...if I did it's not intentional...just a byproduct of the fermented beverages and jello shots I put my liver through this weekend
BTW...as soon as I got back I took my camera in to get the pics developed...since it's a digital disposable Walgreen's said with those they have to send out, so I have to wait until Thursday for my pics and the CD to send them to you Elrod. Also...anyone who wants a copy of that show I was talking about PM me with your info. Zero, AB and Auntie I remember I have to make one for but the brain goes fuzzy at that point.

I had a great time at the show on Saturday. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet any of you like I had planned. We got into Chicago at 4 in the morning Sat morning. So we slept in til like 2, had to decorate the car for a couple of hours (pictures coming), had to grab something to eat then when we finally got there we had a little bit of time to drink and get ready to go in but that was it. Since we had lawn seats we went in pretty early. Great set list, hope I can meet you all next time around

My weekend in Chicago ended this evening sitting at a bar on the river called 'Life's Too Short' (or something close too that)......great name for someplace to end such a wonderful weekend! From there, we had to high speed it to the airport because we stayed a little too long!

Sounds like I missed out on a great time! (like I didn't know it already)
I was dressed, the car was packed, and I was ready to head south at 1:00... my friend said Friday night that she wanted to go, so I did everything I had to do to make it happen for me... then she got wishy washy on me, didn't want to chance going without tix, and then it was too late.

At the 1st sign of wishy, I should have said c'ya, and taken off alone. I've regretted that I didn't ever since.
I was happy to hear from gumbogal... hope I didn't sound too sad on the phone!
Being from the Chicago area, I guess I'm accustomed to "there's always next year!"

We missed you Tiki Bar...I was with GumboGal when she called you, and was sad you couldn't make it...just glad it wasn't because of an emergency or something.....we will have to meet next year.....

Thanks to IUP and Michi for helping me out for Thurs!! We ended up going on Sat. Got great tickets and had an awesome time. Set list was amazing. The only bummer was not being able to hook up with other BN'ers. We got to the HI too late on Fri, just as the band was wrapping up and went to Tailgreat, but being new and not knowing anyone, I was hoping someone would notice my nametag---I was looking for others too, but didn't see any. We met some nice Canadian parrotheads and had a great time there. Very relaxing start to a great day

Hey pholks, just my $0.02.
First, sorry I missed the folks from BN and CoB,O that were hanging around. I had an over-served sister in-law and a brother that needed help "controlling" her. Tip # 1 you've heard before PACE YOURSLEVES!!!
Second, the set list is confusing me a bit. It starts out on some up tempo songs but then seems to come to a screatching halt quickly. It just didn't seem to transition well. Don't get me wrong I liked the selection for the most part it just seemed to stop the dancing just as it was heating up.
Third, I had to laugh at the puzzled looks on a lot of faces when Jimmy did "This Hotel Room". Personally I think this was a better song then "She's Got You"
Fourth, for me the best song of the night was "Growing Older But Not Up" Just Jimmy and his guitar for the final encore.
I thought Bubba was more animated than I have noticed in the past. He was all over the place. On his knees for "Knees of My Heart, and he worked both ends of the stage. After the final encore he ws signing autographs from the stage. It cooled down nicely for the show so that may have something to do with it. And, as I mentioned when I posted some note about Pine Knob, Tina played the guitar again. I can't remember seeing this before either. My only real complaint about the venue is it took forever to get a beer, lots of people and the refreshments always seem to be in a corner. Tough getting in and out with that crowd.
After returning to the hotel room, I did think I spotted Auntie in the lobby. She ducked into the restroom and discretion got the better of me. We spent a fair amount of time after were got back trying to get a Pizza delivered with no luck. They must have a ban on eating pizza after midnight. We even tried to chase down a Pizza delivery man spotted in the lobby, but he was a bit slippery.
OK, so it's a bit more than $0.02...if a few more brain cells regenerate I'll really be chatty
For now, looks like I'm counting down to next summer already....

I'm pretty sure that me and my buddy impressed everyone around us by knowing all the words to every single song of the night (except This Hotel Room, only knew about half of the song... and I know I am telling the wrong crowd this because I know you all know the words to all the songs too

). Nobody in the vicinity of us knew anything beyond MVille and Cheeseburger. But hey, thats alright. Here is a picture of me and a rookie that was behind me. Nice attire he had on
I give him props though for attending his first Buffett concert. Ya gotta start somewhere

Achmed & the staff at Holy-day Een were wonderful hosts! So many times we’ll see the hotels close to the venue jack up the price and hope we go away in day or two. These folks were a lot of fun and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome – including extra trashcans in the parking lot and scheduling a band to play for us on Friday.
Al - You’re a gentleman and a scholar, and there’s damn few of us left.
Angel Beach – Thanks for the flag and the alligator squirt gun.
Auntie – Thanks for including Chicago in your adventure this year and for all your work on
Phruitcakes in the Kitchen
7Lords, thank you for distributing the nametags. I wish that you could have joined us.
FinsUpNorth and ParrotheadKalee – Thank you for the jello shots. I hope that you girls make it to some more shows next year.
Gringo - Thank you for the rum. It brought back some memories and helped erase some others. I enjoyed meeting (not meating) Mike, Kathy and Jody and look forward to visiting with all of you again while some resin cures.
Gumbo Gal – Thanks for the jello shots.
IUP, it’s always a pleasure to see you. Thanks for the upside-down margaritas.
Jen - I’m always glad to see you, thanks for everything you do.
Michi – It was great to see you again. If you’re Tulsa, I’m closer to Hooters than your customer is.
Nutmeg, thanks for the necklace. Those were unique and definitely appropriate for our crew. I know that Tom keeps dragging you to these concerts, but you’re sure a good sport about it,
Phat Matt, I think we all enjoyed visiting with you and your family. They are far more understanding of you being a parrothead than many of our families are. I don’t think you have to twist your dad’s arm too hard, just get him the schedule.
Queenie - it was great to see you again. You were a wonderful chauffer, I look forward to serving again as the Royal Navigator.
El Senator, Gumby, Karin, Lee2 – it was good to see you again.
12 lb. and Ice Pac, Grover and Mel, Parrot Droppings – It was a pleasure to see all of you, glad that you were able to join us.
Zero - thanks for sharing your local knowledge. It was a relief that I didn’t need to call you from O’Hare this year. (And an even more important, knowing that I could if I really had to.)
If I forgot to mention you by name, I’m sorry.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an <s>evening</s> weekend,
Take care my BN friends!
As for my friends at American, what can I say? You're a notch above United in my book.
