This will be a great topper to one heck of a concert run this summer....
this lil ol phan score card...
Jimmy.... Vegas (2), Great Woods in Boston THIS WEEK (2), Chicago, San Diego & Irvine, 7 shows this year.....
Plus Eagles in Dallas, Phoenix, and San Diego
Plus Fleetwood Mac, Irvine and San Diego.
Really looking forward to Jimmy in Irvine and San Diego...nothing like the parking lot at Irvine but San Diego is gaining!
The preparty across the street should be phun...as long as the Irvine PD stay as cool as they have been in the past.
PHINS UP!!!!
sdp-40, you missed ....springsteen...in L A? also do ya think joe walsh kept everybody else afloat during their shows? i saw the san jose show. i thought they dragged during the first part of the show, but when joe walsh sang his songs , and played his solo's, then they "rocked".

We were in the parking lot across the street before they opened the gates but once they did there was a traffic jam to get into the venue. It took us an hour to get out of the parking lot and into the venue parking lot...just across the street!
any ideas on how to get out faster?
We left Huntington Beach about noon, arrived at Irvine Meadows about 1 to a frolly in the parking lot.....there was no place to park so kept on the move.....took about 30 minutes to fill the gap between us and the gate once they opened it.. not to bad considering the numbers awaiting an opening.....dunno what to do this year.....first in line but where?..no place to park unless your timing from the offramp is impeccable.

Mason...Hope all is well in Nor Cal....
Yes, I missed Bruce, and limited my dates to the other late 70's vintage bands we all loved....well many people.
I hear you on The Eagles, it was incredible when Joe W. went nuts, especially with his James Gang tunes.
You have to appreciate Jimmy when you see other shows...No one (Dead excluded) really has anything like a parking lot party like Buffett. It was funny when I flew to Dallas for the Eagles show there. I was ready to party in the lot, but felt like I was attending some corporate event. A great deal of well dressed middle aged people quietly filing in to a great arena....Nice, but not Buffett by no means!

exactly my thinking , sdp-40. even springsteen did not keep the crowd at pac bell park in sf standing for most of the show. he sang a few slow songs that allowed some sit down time.
also, country singers and groups, of long standing , such as ...alabama ...and brooks and dunn, don't seem to get their well deserved recognition, such as a standing ""O"....when they come on stage.
i have always thought....there is nothing like a buffett crowd....

i stayed at a hotel/motel across the freeway and close to the amphitheater last year. it took close to 2 hours to get into the parking lot, the back way.

It will be interesting to see how it is getting into the parking lot this year. Last year the place of was pretty crazy but I am definetly not going to be the lot across the street.....maybe come in from the other side of the freeway.

Yes Mason, I have given him the lowdown on "parrothead ticket etiquette".
Whether or not he listens is another matter. I have already offered him face plus charges for his extra pair (on behalf of honey do) and he thinks he can do better. So much for the guy owing me a favor.
crabman
P.S. I just found out today that Peter Mayer and his band will be appearing at Cal Speedway on Sunday the 21st. They are scheduled to play on the "midway" stage during "crapwagon" weekend..Parking is free and there is no charge to be in the midway area.
Go for the music, not for the racing!
