Post by travlgrrl »

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know how to record a show from Radio Margaritaville? Do I need special equipment? I haven't a clue...... I would love to record tomorrow and Saturday nights shows. Thanks!!!!!!!! :P

Basically all you need is a decent Internet connect (broadband works best, never tried on dial-up), Windows Media Player or Real Player and a program called Total Recorder http://www.highcriteria.com/ This program costs $12 and is worth every penny.

Check out this thread for some setup info etc

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Good luck!

I Know some you might want, i use these programs and all work great.

Cdwave editor - to spilt up the wav file once you record.
Audacity - If you have RM dropouts, you can cut them out of the file with this.
MP3 Trim - Increases the sound to whatever volume you want.

Also, i use Musicmatch Jukebox to record, and it works great. I don't know if the free one records or not, i have the pro version. :D

Or you can use Cool Edit Pro to do all 3 :P Plus fade in-out, hiss removal, lots of other great things.

I tried all sorts and settled on Cool Edit 2000 - the one for $70. They were bought by Adobe and "they don't make that no more." So now they have Cool Edit Pro under some new name, and that's totally supported.

It's a solid product but comes with a solid price tag. If you have cool edit pro currently, they were offering a free upgrade to the new stuff.

For the CE2000 users like me... well, it works, and if it ain't broken...
