Greatwoods Reflection, Part II (Saturday)

What a difference a day makes. Even though we were "on time" for Thursday, we decided to have breakfast in the parking lot on Saturday morning and planned for a 9:30 arrival.
Well, it worked, and we got a PRIME location: first row of the early arrivals lot, right on the corner. We got the shades up, the bar up, the blenders going and the grills cooking.
Weather was fantastic! We ran into old PHriends from GWs past, made new PHriends. We handed out about 60 Virgin Scavenger hunts and helped a lot of people enjoy their day. It was the crowd that I had expected to see. It was pure Buffett Tailgating, and it was grand.
I also finally caught up with my BN Phriends at the RV and at our bar. A good time was had by all. *AND* the Yanks won (which just prevented additional heckling of us).
The set list rocked! This was precisely what I wanted to hear and a good time was had. Only mistake I made was sharing *one last* drink with a new PHriend. They brought something over for us to try... and we all had some. Not sure what was in it, but whoa! did it affect me
Recovery underway... as is planning for next year at GW. Hope you all enjoyed the show, too!
I'll be posting some pictures at some point today (about to head out to a family reunion right now)

Great show, great fun. I am impressed to see you up so early!!!!
A day made the difference for me too. I kept it under a 100 last night. Switched to Coke around 6:00, didn't miss a second of a great show. We loved the "Wino and I Know." Loved it all. Jimmy was way into it.
Sounds like next year maybe a go?

Saturday, what a great day at Great Woods, about 14ish hours of fun! UNFORTUNATELY the day after the show always seems like the reality check day that summer is winding down.

ahhhhh...Saturday @ GW....
I do have to say having BFC w/me there made the day complete.....
She had a blast, and so didnt mom.....
Meeting Santa was great.....and this time the "REAL" PG got to me and hang out w/the Port's

......meet BOR, and the Bixxx's...(and found out they live pretty damn close to me)
Of course, being w/SGH and Cuervo was a PHANTASTIC way to start the day....I waited a long time to meet Cuervo, and I can tell you it was well worth it....

....Cuervo my friend....come back to New England anytime.....You made a great impression on BFC.....(she now thinks everytime she does something, she's going to use "It's all Cuervo's fault"
I guess we couldnt of asked for better weather this year huh for both shows....even Jimmy thought so....
So I want to
THANK ALL you
BN'ers for ending my summer on a
great note....
I did learn one lesson...leave the cell phone
off...that way
noone can take bets on your state of mind......

Don't worry , I'm with ya, and sure there are a few others too. I don't measure the years by birthdays or anniversaries anymore, I mark 'em by Labor Days spent at GW.

Great show from my perspective.., good song set, I really liked Lovely Cruise as a wind down final encore song.
We got there late in a chartered small bus, the driver HAD NO CLUE as to what he was in for when he showed up to work Saturday morning. By the time we were done with him he was wearing a Hawaiiain shirt and a grass skirt smoking a big rum soaked cigar. He had a great time.
Like I said we arrived late, 2:30 or so and got in line in the RV lot RIGHT ACCROSS FROM AN IDIOT PLAYING DJ. This guy was bad... loud sound system playing dance club stuff, obnoxius with a cordless microphone trying to get every female that was within earshot to flash him

..... after a couple hours it got REAL old. We tried playing some cd's on a boom box to no avail.
We set up the bar.. gased up the blender and proceded to mix drinks for anyone who stopped by. We went through around 3 gals of margarita mixer spiced with some added punch.. Gave out over 150 small cup fulls, met some great people, had some interesting conversations. Many people took photos of us, if anyone here did please post that info. I'll give my email address if i can have copies.
Next year is on the way.. can't wait. I envy those of you that can do multiple cities and shows, I'd like to meet some of you road vets in person and have a blender drink... maybe next year.
Peace
Tom

This was my first GW experience and I now know why everyone claims that this is the Best Parking Lot !!!
We got there at 9:45 (Santa, I must have been about 5 cars next to you in the lot... I even stopped by your bar a couple times!)
The parking lot was awesome! I have been to 4 different venues now, and nothing compares the what I saw on Saturday. There is a lot of time and $ spent in some of these set-ups, and everybody was so nice. I can't beleive the amount of free food and supplies that were offered to us!
Hovever, I did notice that the people of GW have a difficult time pacing themselves and I saw more people passed out before the show here then at any other venue (hey, but it's their loss).
The day got even better when my cousin (who somehow has some really good conections) surprised me with Section 2 tickets (20 rows from the stage). I have never been this close in concert and it was incredible to see / hear the crowd from the front and to see Jimmy and the bad up-close! The set-list was awesome (better the the Camden show earlier this year)! and the concert was one of the best I've seen (this might have something to do with how f-ing close I was!!!!).
Another point about sitting up-close... none of these people knew the words to Jimmy songs. I really wish that more of the die hard phans could sit this close!
One negative... since my cousin could only get 2 tickets up-front the rest of our group watched the show from the law, and did not have that great of a concert experience. They said that the view was the worst lawn view of any venue (they could barely see the stage) and to top things off, some middle-aged man threw-up on my brother-in-law's leg! But oh well I was up close!
To summarize:
GW = the best parking lot (so far)
Seats = awesome (I will probably never get that close again)
Concert = excellent set-list and Jimmy wa awesome!
