Buffett at Fenway Park in Boston? There's no parking lot!

After the 2 historical Bruce Springsteen concerts at Fenway Park last week, rumor in the Globe suggest Jimmy commented he would like to play Fenway and had some people checking it out. I would be dissappointed if he skipped over Great Woods for Fenway. I would love it if he did Fenway IN ADDITION to Great Woods. I saw Bruce at Gillette Stadium this summer and still agree that stadium concerts don't even compare the closeness of Great Woods, the sound and atmosphere.

For those of you not familiar with Fenway, it's in the middle of city, with zero, none, no parking. I can't see Parrotheads on the subway. As it was a few years ago, he played the Fleetcenter in February, and although it was nice to see him in Boston, came nowhere near the normal Buffett experience.

My own opinion is that the neighbors around Fenway would never let Buffett play there, they were moaning and groaning about Bruce, and I bet they would fear 35,000 people showing up at the Cask and Flagon at Noon for an 8:00 show.

It'd be great, but I personally doubt it's gonna happen.

I saw Bruce at Fenway this weekend, and it was a pretty good time. I can see some performers wanting to play there instead of at greatwoods or Gillette if for nothing more than the novelty of playing at an "old time" ball park.

I'm not sure how many people they had at the show. I heard they had 7000 seats on the field, but they didn't have anyone in the bleachers or two sections of the grand stand so I couldn't figure it out. It might not hold enough to attract some of the bigger names, but I'm sure it holds as much or more than GW.

There are actually a few parking lots around there, and a few people were tailgaiting although nothing like at greatwoods.

With the success of Bruce playing there last weekend I wouldn't be suprised if JB played a show there next year. My guess is that he will play Fenway earlier in the year and play 1 GW show on Labor day weekend. They had 35,000 + for each show, that would mean more tickets would be available if JB were to play there. I think GW only holds 19,000???

Great Woods holds 19,900. The best case for all of us would be over Labor Day Weekend ---- as usually Thursday and Saturday at Great Woods then on Labor Day (Monday) play at Fenway - 3 Shows in the Boston area! How great would that be? :D

that would be the leonard zakim bridge, as it has replaced the tobin bridge as the favorite jumping off spot for redsox fans

I dont think Jimmy will play Fenway, if he did Im sure he'd keep the Labour Day Greatwoods gig for sure...Even at shows, he has said he likes the Parking Lots, and he knows we do too!!!

I even remember a little thing StSomewhere had here about the parking lot at Greatwoods!!

Maybe a spring / early summer show at Fenway and the fall G.W. shows. like what he did when he played the Fleet Center he played the regular shows that summer also.
