Jimmy Doing Jim

As we approach the 30th anniversary of the passing of Jim Croce (You Don't Mess Around with Jim, Bad Leroy Brown, Operator, Time in a Bottle) I think it's time for Jimmy to at long last cover a Jim Croce tune. Either "Workin at the Car Wash Blues", "New York's Not My Home" or Ball of Kerrymuir (a JC cover) would do. I can come up with some other ideas if you give me some time.

I gotta vote for just Jimmy on an acoustic version of "Operator"

Goodman,

Just droppin a line to let you know that I enjoy your interesting informative music history type posts. Although I never have anything to add, they always get me thinking. I appreciate these little tidbits that you enlighten me to, and I thank you.

Keep 'em coming!

"Rapid Roy" "Roller Derby Queen" or "Workin' at the Car Wash Blues"

I love, love, love Croce's ballads, but Jimmy would be perfect doing one of the 'story' songs!

My vote is for "I've Got A Name". .. Imagine what a good summer it would have been to see a J.C. and a J.B. concert every year.

I'm gonna pull rank here, it beeing my topic and all. I'd like JB to cover the Ball of Kerrymuir (perhaps just the filet). It sounds to me like Jim C is havin a helluva good time on it. IMHO it kicks ass on WDWGDAS. Other than Jim C's "story songs" his body of work is mainly somewhat sad and depressing. Hell there's a time for sad n depresssing but it's not at a live show in front of 20,000 folks. So Jimmy- play the filet of the Ball of Kerrymuir and we'll all be much obliged.
