We felt the rug was pulled right out from underneath us. I had no idea how much I looked forward to this concert. Given that, Bubba is dealing with a much more serious issue, life.

Good thoughts your way Jimmy and his family!!!!!!!

As bad as I feel for our west coast friends, I feel worse for JB.
no need to feel bad for us west coasters. if we are smart we took a road trip to vegas for both shows. got our fix that way and planned for shoreline, san diego and irvine. if we didn't take a road trip, then other plans will just have to be made when jimmy feels up to starting the tour again. otherwise, we will wait, until next year.

thank you jimmy for vegas

Ya know I just want to say it goes to show that parrotheads are truly a bunch of really good people. I was lucky enough to be at SD and meet plenty of folks out there. I know how much preparation goes into these shows and lesser people would really be having a fit over the cancellation regardless of circumstance. Much love to Jimmy, his family, and parrotheads from all over.

I was fortunate enough to have met Peets (that's Jimmy's mom) and spend almost an hour with her in New Orleans in 1996. She's a very cool lady and we swapped many Bubba stories....I'll have to dig out a couple of pics and post them somewhere. I wish her and all of her family the very best wishes during their difficult time. She's a very gracious sothern lady.

:( What an up and down year for Bubba. First his dad passed away and now his mother is very ill. However, he is nominated for an award to be presented November 5. I know family is way more important to him than any award or concert, but I also know he would have loved for both his parents to have been there with him on his "hopefully" special night. May God bless you and your family during this time.

well duh wrote:Terrible news, and he's doing the right thing.

but, relative to the point of purchase thing, does anyone have an idea of how that will work? (and I'm not being tacky, we can't go, so I sold four tickets to Irvine to very nice people whom I've already contacted, but will legitimate TM-issued tickets be enough, or will we need to go through I-bought-them-my-credit-card-sending-money back?)

SORRY, that's a horrible thought, when we ought to be merely thinking of the family.
take the tickets back to where you bought them. your credit credit will be credited. very simple

thank you mary "peetes" buffett for sharing your son jimmy with the rest of us
