I'd rather lose as a Red Sox fan than win as a Yankee fan!

once again the window is open and 1 foot is on the ledge. I have a few comments:
1. Most importantly, Matt SWEET picture!
2. We will not win if Burkett starts. Burkett vs. Pettite in NY is a certain loss. I'm a realist. Start Wakefield or Pedro!
3. Did we see Nomar's last game at Fenway... I think we did
4. Anyone else slightly irrated at watching Manny and Nomar laughing in the dugout late in the game. I have followed this team for my entire lifetime and come to the realization that I, like most fans, take the losses much harder than them. Kind of puts things in perspective.
5. Nomar, Mueller, Millar need to look up clutch in the dictionary because they have no idea what it means. 3 of them have killed too many rallies.
6. Grady should have went with my lineup!
7. Hey Matt you need a threesome? That's for golf you sicko!

Because you have no bullpen to speak of...Lesser of two evils. And Grady Little isn't a very good field manager.

Ragtop, I saw that & felt the same as you
I'm in my 29th year in actively following the BOSOX
I remember dancing around like Fisk when he hit that famous home run I also remember crying in '75 as a kid when they lost it.
My Grandfather, a lifelong Fan, died last Summer.
So I don't jump to relax as this continues when mat says to relax after saying stuff like-
RED SOX s***!!!
1918!
Okay, I'm done for now. Loosers.
Tonight is the only one I'm not going to. Trust me, I'd love the pleasure of watching a Sox fan: a) get pelted with objects and insults up close, b) have the pleasure of seeing the look on your face when you get shelled and all your hopes and dreams go down the toliet AGAIN up close!
I'll be there in my hat and jersey! And trust me...I embarrassed many fans outside when I had my chance. My favorite was the guy who asked me if I saw the score...I replied "Yep 19-18!" The look on his face showed how much of a jerk a yankees fan can be.
what a jerk

~ Grady Little is an aweful field manager and I am not 100% sure he will be back.
~ I think Nomar will be back but I am not certain about Pedro and Manny.
~ If the Sox are to win tonight they will ahve to score 6+ runs at least, against Petitte another words it's a long shot at best.
~ You are what you are and the Sox finished 6 games behind NY for a reason.

If the Sox are gonna pull it off tonight, they're gonna have to score big and early, like BoR said!
It's an uphill battle, to be sure...
Those guys laughing in the dugout
p*ssed me off!!!!
Not making a tee time just yet.....

Grady will be back. They made it to the ALCS and i think that will be enought to keep his job.
10/15/03, listen to me... Nomar will be in Dodger blue next year.

& Nomar will have a career year then if history is correct:
Dennis Eckersley
Carney Lansford
Wade Boggs
Roger Clemens

If there's any glimmer of hope for the Sox tonight it's the simple fact that they'll probably win just because they're not supposed to... I know that the last three weeks have been pretty nauseating as far as the offensive numbers are concerned, but don't give up just yet.
We've seen it time and time again, these are the same guys we watched for 6 months during the regular season. We know they can hit, I mean
really hit!! Not to mention they always seem to be more productive when they feel that their starter is probably gonna give up 5 or more runs.
(Hence the 5.999 runs per game they scored this year) All I'm sayin' is that it aint over till the fat lady sings!!! Keep the faith kids!!! Keep the frigin' faith!!!

I have faith anything can happen but the odds are against them but when ever they look liek they are dead they always come back so why should tonight be differant........

...because Burkett is pitching

.
if Burkett gets through the first 2 innings with 1 run or less we have a chance. Anybody who watches this team throughout the year knows that Burkett's first 2 innings are always an adventure!

The fat lady has been kidnapped. Her mouth has been duct-taped shut, and she's handcuffed and locked in a small, nondescript 8x10 room in a small, nondescript building, under the guard of those loyal to Red Sox Nation...

If the sox are to win tonight it will have to be a high scoring game like 8-5 of something like that. NY will score off Burkett question is can the Sox knock around petitte like they did in July?

my lineup for tonight...
Damon CF
Kapler 1B (it's first base how hard could it be)
Walker 2B
Manny LF
Mirabelli DH (again Ortiz will look foolish against Petite)
Merloni 3B (Batting champion Bill had your shot)
Nixon RF
Varitek C
D. Jackson SS (he can strikeout, pop up and hit into DP just as good as Nomar)

Watch those how hard can first base be to play cracks buddy! Us lefties don't have choices as to where we can play this right handed game!
