Fox Sux!

Post by Goodman »

I stayed up to watch a great game buoyed by the anticipated appearance in the line up of one Jimmy Buffett who I hadn't thought of in baseball terms since "Growin Older But Not Up". Well the 7th inning came and went with no JB. I had hoped for a tip of the cap to Steve Goodman. The corporate dogs apparently decided their dumb commercials were much more important than a life appearance of a man who crosses both Marlin & Cub lines.

From now on Jimmy the lyrics should be Fox Sux not Math Sucks! :-)
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

True--no 7th inning stretch. Generally it's only shown in WGN. If you watched closely, you did get to see Jimmy briefly when Sosa hit that two run homer. He was jumping up and down in a blue hawaiian shirt and Cubs hat. Oh, well.....plus we lost.

Ok, click here and then look under More Coverage~Related Links and Sammy's HR is the 3rd selection. It shows the box briefly towards the end of the clip and you can see two guys in hawaiian shirts. Is the one in the hat Jimmy? Who can confirm? Thanks.

According to this story... Jimmy was wearing a cubs jersey. Not a hawaiian shirt.

I noticed that in the sun sentinel article as well....however, it sure looked like him when I saw it on TV (can't really tell if its him or not on the web feed). I can't believe none of the media has pictures of him in the booth singing.....I've checked all the chicago sources but no luck what so ever.

Fox is run by Sir Rupert Murdoch

say no more

he tried to ruin all our sport in Australia.

I no longer buy any of his newspapers, or watch his TV stations.

I am not surprised at anything his corporation does.

(getting off my soap box now!)
