Radio Margaritaville at one point said that the shows will be rescheduled, I haven't heard anything else about it

Since TicketMaster has already issued refunds, IF the shows are rescheduled they will need to go on sale again.
(Nice racket too ... double the "convience" fees  )

Too true, CS -- we got our refunds, but apparently our convenience was just too much for a big business like TM to bear. Wonder what they'd think of my billing them postage for mailing the money back to the people to whom we sold the tickets?

They would gladly pay you back the postage money. It would be no problem at all.

However, you would have to pay a $5 shipping charge, a $3 handling charge, a $4 processing charge, a $3 charge for printing the check, and a $2 charge for printing the address label on the envelope. Additionally, you would be assesed a convenience charge of $3 for every cent that is repaid to you.

I say go for it!

Yeah the west coast has had some bad luck and bad timing with Jimmy...
He used to come every fall up until the fall of 98 then decided to switch to spring which turned into the Spring of 2000...so it was like a year and a half between shows...then he came spring of 2001 a great show in San Jose on St Patricks Day...then went back to fall in 2002 so again another year and a half went by and NO JIMMY...and now the family tragedy. I had tickets to his fall show in Vegas in 2000 and that weekend I had a family tragedy so I know what its about...just frustrated as a Buffett fan.

I e-mailed Radio Margaritaville and asked if the shows would be rescheduled. I got a reply back that said they had no official word yet but that as soon as they did, they would post it on the website.

Does anyone have any historical perspective here? Is it standard for ticketmaster to automatically refund whether or not there will be a rescheduled show? Anyone know if this has happened before with various artists?

In 2001, Jimmy cancelled four shows (one because he was sick and three because of the terrorist attacks). For all four of these shows, a makeup date was set within just a few days. Fans could either use tickets for the makeup show or get a refund.
