I have several friends that are huge Parrotheads like me. Then there is my girlfriend and my family that only listen to Buffett when I do. They enjoy his music but don't own a Buffett CD (I'm working on changing it  )

My husband used to hate Jimmy, he's learned to tolerate him over the years...but he still thinks I am way too obsessed with all things Jimmy! My 6 year old knows several of the songs and sings along...my coworkers also think I am obsessed, but a couple of them want to go to Alpine next year with me. A couple other of my coworkers think I am stupid for being able to get excited about "just another dumb concert of Jimmy Buffett", but they would not know a good time if it bit them in the a** :P I don't worry about it, I just do what makes me happy :D

My family and friends fall into a few of the categories, but the one thing they ALL have in common is they think I am nuts! A couple friends are right there with me and quite amused, but I get a lot of these  from family members and friends that are more casual fans.

My keets, 7 and 5, enjoy that I am nuts! They love the music, the decorations, and the costumes, and make me eternally proud! My husband doesn't mind the music in small doses and came to his 1st concert this summer, but doesn't plan to go again. He calls me Geeky Bar, thinks I've gone overboard over the past year (so what if he's right) and doesn't understand why I would want to go see the same show 2 nights later, or 2 months later for that matter! He has taught me 1st hand, "You either get it, or you don't." But we still love eachother... we had too much in common anyway!

My friends and family think I'm nuts... But in a good way! They seem to love my enthusiasm come concert time though!

But regardless of who thinks I'm crazy or not, I found myself a worthy "partner in crime"-- my boyfriend shares my love for Jimmy Buffett AND the Denver Broncos! Talk about a match made in Heaven (or Margaritaville-- my man and I met on the lawn during Jimmy's Chula Vista show in 2000).

I voted that most of my family was converted, but then I remembered that they bought me a plane ticket to SF to see (well, almost see) Jimmy at Shoreline for my birthday. They knew I would love it. And I still did.

My mom sends me anything with sharks on it, and my Dad called me drunk from the Margaritaville in New Orleans last year. He loves to tell his patients that I am going to another show and "can you believe that she's only been to about 38??" And my sister made us all matching Hawaiian shirts one year... :)

So I guess we are all crazy converted Parrotheads. :wench:
