Congrats Marlins. Good to see a bunch of kids with a lot of heart win this thing with basically their grandpa managing. And how 'bout Josh Beckett. Wow, complete game 5 hitter against the Yanks in the Bronx.

I'm now bummed that the baseball season is over :( . Now there is just football to watch. Can't wait for April either!

Thanks, St. Somewhere.
Maybe it IS better the World Series was over in 6 games. Because if there would've been a game 7, I would have had to live through it for another day.

Well, here's my CONGRATS to the Marlins too. 8)

They played well when it counted and deserve the title. They showed nothing but class and I hope at least some of their 50,000 newly-found fans stick with them next season. :D

And now ... on to football! (I can't believe that season is already ½-over!)

My God, they actually did it. When the Wild card race went on, I told a buddy of mine that if the Fish actually win the WS I will go platnum. I never thought it would happen until the NLDS, and ofcourse by this point I had forgotten about the "bet". Sure enough Saturday night comes and goes and I get blasted to be held to it on this sunday. Thankfully I got off light since it's probalbly impossible to turn back into white without my hair falling out, but I do have to deal with some serious flak for the next few weeks. BUT ITS WORTH IT.

On a lighter note- funny story from Friday. Few of us went down to the Hyatt/Grand Central where the fish were staying and had a few beers in the bar. Got to meet McKeon, along with other a few others- Urbina, Fox, l Harris, etc. Made my night. But it wasn't even as funny as one of the girls who came with us rund off with A.J. Burnett (pitcher) never to be seen again.

It's been a lovely cruise!

Oh, and I think the Marlins clearly played a better game than NY. And they had to play the playoffs just the same as the Yankees, so I don't think Bosox are a legit excuse. I mean just how many times could we strand players before it got ridiculous. :o Beckett certainly was great, though I think Pettite was, too. If only P had the batters and fielders to support him. :-? Oh, well, there's always next year, so they say.

Interesting thing I thought of today, the last team to win the world series without playing the Yankees in the playoffs - 1997 Florida Marlins

1998 - Yankees won
1999 - Yankees won
2000- Yankees won
2001 - Arizona beat Yankees WS
2002 - Anaheim beat Yankees ALDS
2003 - Florida beat Yankees WS
