Well ... I was going to post earlier about how nice it was to see the Marlin's fans, players and coaches giving Clemens an ovation when he left the game but I saw that others had beaten me to it.
HOWEVER ... after being called a cockroach (
in two languages no less) for not posting anything, I decided I should add my 2ยข after all, even if it
is piling on.
Too bad the Yankees lost in the 12th (
actually I'm surprised it took the Marlins that long to get a run on Weaver) but at least by tying it up in the 9th, they kept Clemens from taking the loss.
And now they'll get to hear "New York, New York" one more time!

I actually flipped on the game last night to see the score and NY had Bernie Williams on 2nd, Chop Suey on first with no outs in a 3-3 game I think it was the top of the 10th or 11th I turned off the TV and went to bed, I guess NY didn't score.... I read this morning Jeff "Walkoff" Weaver gave up the GW HR. Makes one wonder, is Jeff Weaver NY for John "way back" Wasdin?

Naw they didn't

... and that inning was only one of
several the Yankees had good chances in but failed to get it done.
I
almost went to bed myself when Weaver was brought in to pitch, but somehow I felt compelled to stay up and watch ... kinda like that staring-at-an-accident-by-the-side-of-the-road thing!

Hello loosers(that would be you Red Sox Nation)...Sorry I didn't get to post earlier. It was nice to see Rodger get the send off from the Marlins fans, I don't think we've seen the last of him, this year, or next.
As soon as Weaver was brought in I knew I would be able to go to sleep soon.
Tonight we make it 3-2 so I can, yet again, see MY team win the World Series in person.

NYCPORT-
I guess the biggest surprise last night was that Weaver made through the 11th unscathed!
VERY COOL that you'll be at the NY games, btw!

If I were you I'd be kinda glad for a loss in FL

L-O-S-E-R!!!
I'm STILL waiting for ANY other team to accumulate 39 league championships and 26 World Series titles. It's NOT going to happen in our lifetime. Not even in the lifetime of a couple of certain young snots who post here. (The team with the 2nd most titles is the Cardinals with 9).
This series still isn't over-it's now down to the best 2-out-of-3. But no matter WHAT happens, I'll still carry my Yankee swagger with me anywhere I go, because they ARE winners, and I don't have a problem with a few brave souls insulting the team from the safety of their computer.
TWO MORE THINGS-
1) Although the Marlins aren't THAT good, they did play like winners last night, and definately deserved to win after the Yankees wasted so many opportunities to put the game away. So I tip my hat to them, and we'll just have to go after them again tonight.
2) I was also pleased at the class the Marlins and their fans showed by giving the rocket-man the standing "O" last night. After listening to some interviews with some of the Marlin players before and after the game, their sense of sportsmanship and humility is very evident, and they should be applauded for that. They WANT to win, and that's what it's all about, right? But I was really blown away by the class the fans and players showed by giving our pitcher the ovation and tipping of their caps as he exited the game. REAL baseball fans are the best.
Now, having said all that, GO YANKEES, and may the best team win.

Brain works faster than the hands. I gotta talk to Jim about a spell check thingy.
...And Kit, you're the only one I'm NOT calling a loser.

Thanks, C.S.
Let's hope the only problem the Yankees have tonight is not being able to spell. We'll deal with the loosers here later.
I just think it's amazing when OUR team looses, we blame OUR team. So I guess we DO have something in common with the Red Sox fans-when THEY loose, they blame us too.

You really need to relax. MOST of us around here are aware that trash talking is the norm around here, and no one, except yourself and a very few others, takes what we say all that seriously.

back to the hole cockroach, wasn't talking to you
why should I relax when I'm not the one initiating the trash talking?
could that be a double standard where you have free reign but I should stop? I've tried to make light in my last couple of posts to you & you keep coming back with trash
