Just to name a few -
We Are The People Our Parents Warned Us About
Wrinkles only go where smiles have been
All of the faces, and all of the places, wondering where they all dissapeared
Take another road to a hiding place, dissapear without a trace
I see a flying boat, and I get a lump in my throat, and I say someday I will (so true for me because someday I really will)
Where this all ends I can't fathom my friends, if I knew I might toss out my anchor
I never knew what you all wanted, so I gave you everything

I mean I'm in no hurry
To hustle and scurry
There's so much to see
And life ain't gonna
Pass me by ...
Tomorrow's right around the corner
I'll get there somehow
But I'm stuck in meantime
And I Love The Now ...

let the winds of change blow over my head
i'd rather die while i'm living than live while i'm dead
Thats just the start of a well deserved over due binge ( story of my life.)

why is everyone double posting?
why is everyone double posting?
Someone wants a piece of you
Never let 'em pay
What you do not give them
Time takes anyway
Pieces, bits, and pieces
Add up through the years
I've collected a small fortune
In souvenirs

ah, the irony
Now I wadn't, uh, knee-crawlin', slip-slidin', reggy-youngin', commode-huggin' drunk, I was God's own drunk, and a fearless man
I got a bartender's ear and beachcomber's style
Piratical nerve and a Vaudevillian style
I suspect I died in some cosmic shipwreck
With all hands spread all over the deck
What the heck
Then some kind of obscene and unscrupulous mind
Began to pick up what he could find
Added ice, shook me twice, rolled the dice
I never knew what you all wanted
So I gave you everything
All that I could pillage
All the spells that I could sing
Tryin' to tell myself that my condition is improvin'
And if I don't die by Thursday I'll be roarin' Friday night
'Cause I'm livin' on things that excite me
Be they pastry or lobster or love
I'm just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy
In a world full of pushin' and shove
sorry, but I'm sitting here trying to avoid some serious work, and a few lines came to me

I agree with just about everything that's been posted. Here's a few of my favorites that haven't been posted:
If it doesn't work out, they'll never be any doubt that the pleasure was worth all the pain.
I come down and talk to me when the coast is clear.
Having fun is just smiling through those Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes.
I've got a roof over my head, someone to love me in a four poster bed, and I can play this here guitar, I'm gonna thank my lucky stars.
I will play for gumbo.
Back at home it's afternoon 6000 miles away; it will still be there when I get through attending this souire (sp?); there are jobs and chores and questions and plates I need to twirl, but tonight I'll take my chances on the far side of the world.
With a little love and luck, you will get by.

Rockin and a rollin on a Livingston Saturday Night!
Life and ink, they run out at the same time, or so said my old friend the squid.
The whole song: That's what living is to me.
Taking Polaroid pictures that are never in focus.
Put in a quarter, turn out the lights, magic fingers will make you feel all right.
Ringling, Ringling, slippin away, only 40 people live there today (less than that when I drove through there a few weeks ago).
I heard I was in town. I was a mad man in a pick up truck so many years ago...time here still moves slow.

Yes I am a pirate, I'm two hundred years too late
the cannons don't thunder and there's nothing to plunder.
He presents slight problems if he loves you half as much
He works hard all year just wanted a few days alone

funny

This is one of my favorites also
We're stayin' in a Holiday Inn full of surgeons
I guess they meet there once a year
They exchange physician's stories
And get drunk on Tuborg beer
Then they're off to catch a stripper
With their eyes glued to her "G"
But I don't think that I would ever let 'em cut on me

Forgot this one
My garden is filled with papayas and mangos
My life is a mixture of reggaes and tangos
Taste for the good life
I can't live it no other way
While out on the beach there are two empty chairs
That say more than the people who ever sit there
>From under my lone palm
I can look out on the day

"It was somewhere past dark-thirty
When I went back to the head"
"Well, now life throws us curve balls we never can reach
He gave up the ocean but he lived by the beach "
"I got a roof over my head,
Someone to love me in a four poster bed,
And I can play this here guitar
I thank my lucky stars."

"The weather is here, wish you were beautiful" - Cracks me Up
"Just to put a little distance between fact and fantasy"
"I'd rather die while I'm livin' than live while I'm dead"
"Time to see the world, time to kiss the girl, time to cross that wild
meridian. Grab your bag and take a chance, time to learn a Cajun dance,
kid you're gonna see the morning sun"

God I love that line.

Makes me smile everytime I hear it.
