What ever happened to "Far Side of the World" at c
Does anybody have any ideas on why Jimmy isn't focusing any or much attention to Far Side of the World in his concerts these days? I loved alot of material in that album. Just why isn't he playing the songs anymore??
Sunset Beach is my Margaritaville. Where there is endless beach, no time, and sunshine that seems to last forever. I know that Someday I Will.....Someday.

Because if he plays just the songs off that, then people complain. And if he doesn't play songs off of that...

Probably the fact that this tour is more about promoting MMIM than FSOTW has something to do with it... thus the more obscure songs in the setlist this tour.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd get myself drunk and I'd jump right back in!

This is an interesting phenomenon. I think once the tour is over promoting an album that as a general rule the songs are toast and don't get added to the "must play" songs. Classic case is Don't Stop the Carnival.
What's the last JB song that was a must play- Volcano?
This doesn't put me back in my screw Buffett stage just the way it goes. JB has so many must play tunes it really does crowd out a lot of great material.

I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

FSOTW is no different than Off to See the Lizard, or Floridays, or any number of cd's that don't see alot of live time. I'm sure from concert to concert, and from tour to tour he will drop us a song, or 2 from FSOTW, just like he does with the rest of the cd's. But since the FSOTW tour is over we will not hear 5-6 FSOTW songs in one show. I agree that FSOTW is a great cd, and I too would like to hear him play more songs from it. I'm sure when you have as long of a career as Jimmy, and as many songs to choose from it probably isn't easy trying to figure out which songs to throw into the mix with all the must plays. Even if he dropped most of the must plays-he has so many songs to choose from I'm still not sure we would get more than 1, or 2 FSOTW songs in a tour.

FSOTW in concert
If you look at Jimmy's setlists for the last 10+ years, he will promote the new album for one tour and then drop it for a year or two. Following that he adds a song here and a song there from the "recent" albums. Think about how many songs from Beachhouse, Carnival or even Barometer Soup are played right now. It will be a while until we hear alot more of FSOTW.
I like the idea of renting a room for the weekend and having Jimmy play everything! I just need to win that $300,000,000.00 lottery ticket and we'll have us one heck of a party!
