This marks my first ever mp3 purchase. At $8.99 for the entire box from Amazon it was kind of hard to turn down.

wow, Jonathan. I wish I had seen this on the 2nd.

It seems Amazon realized their mistake and it is now $108 for the mp3s.

Someone who bought for $8.99 had them disappear from their "cloud." Hope your purchase is secure!!

Got my "new" Tompall & The Glaser Bros. Vocal Group of the Decade vinyl.
This album was made in 1975 and in addition to having covers of Jimmy's The Christian and Tin Cup Chalice, it is a great sounding album. I love it all.

After hearing nothing but high praise for Tommy Womack for at least the past ten years I finally saw him in concert in Raleigh last night. It was especially hard to resist once I learned he was playing a house concert less than ten minutes from my place. Sounds strange to say after I used to drive over 2.5 hours on a fairly regular basis to come up here from the coast on weekends just to get a live music fix. Over the years I've heard a tune or two of Tommy's but had never purchased one of his records or seen him in concert. All of that changed last night. After hearing "90 Miles Per Hour On A Dead End Street" I knew I wasn't leaving without a copy of his new one, Now What. That is, until I heard "Alpha Male and the Canine Mystery Blood" from his There, I Said It album. I'm glad I finally got to see him after all of these years. I'm looking very forward to digging into his back catalog, which, in addition to his solo work, includes stints in Government Cheese (for which he also penned a book called The Cheese Chronicles) the Bis-Quits (with Will Kimbrough) and his current band with Will called Daddy. If he ever comes to your neck of the woods be sure to check him out. By the way, Buffett covered his tune "Nobody From Nowhere" on his last record, Buffet Hotel.

It's a little off topic, but I recently went to see Bryan Adams at the Strathmore Music Center in MD. The next night, Ryan Adams was playing the same place. You've got to imagine somebody either ended up buying tickets to the wrong show or going on the wrong night. Personally, I think they should have made appearances at each other's shows. Perhaps walk out to the opposite show as though they were the headliner for the night.

On the Bryan/Ryan tip, they were both born on the same day. You can't make this stuff up.

Same day of the year, 15 years apart.

Ryan also shares a birthday with Gram Parsons, who he sounds uncannily like, especially on this duet with Emmylou (Gram's old singing partner) from a tribute to Gram that aired on PBS' Sessions at West 54th years ago.

Picked this up at a free show Tift did on her hometurf of Carrboro, NC last night and what a beautiful evening it was for a concert. The album isn't officially out until October 2nd so it was cool to be able to secure a copy a little early. By the way, from what I've heard from it, as well as what she performed last night, this is a much more stripped down affair than her last record, the more pop-friendly See You On the Moon.

Anything special in the Blu Ray edition (vs the DVD) that make it worth buying?
