one of the Chicago newspapers describes the win as a major upset (Nitty Gritty Dirt band was highly favored).

Congrats Jimmy. It was great to see you liven up the show and to see the Coral Reefers out there (even if it was only for one chorus)!

You looked so excited, so thrilled, and so stunning!!!!! While performing, while accepting... Those twinkling eyes and shining smile get me everytime! And I would like to thank Jane too!!! Your speech made it dawn on me that we owe Jane a debt of gratitude for putting up with you all these years too!
As for Alan... I don't think they come more down to earth than him! He's humble yet appreciative, and I think his acceptance speech for Entertainer of the Year spoke volumes! An excellent choice to collaborate with!!!

I was wondering if I was the only one!! I thought Jimmy looked pure-T-gorgeous last night.......right down to the boat shoes with no socks that he wore with his suit. I mean, even Jimmy has to put on some shoes sometime, right?? He definitely proves that living a happy life is the best thing you can do for your looks.....and health, I should think.

Yea, Jimmy and Alan! Does anybody know if the songwriters got an award? What a gracious guy Alan Jackson is. And Jimmy: if anybody gives you any grief about not thanking the Parrotheads, just know this: we Parrotheads know that you show your thanks by still performing live shows and recording albums every year when we durn well know you could rest on your laurels (isn't that a flower? ) and spend your mucho moolah!!!!!!!!!!
