I don't know if this has been discussed before but I feel like some of Jimmy's songs are sooooo much better live and a lot of them sound very different than the studio versions. My personal favorite song to hear live is Great Heart, I love the intro. Plus everytime I hear Hot, Hot, Hot I get mad that I'm not at a concert. Anyone have any other live favorites?

I hate to admit it with all of Jim's great songs, and eventhough I've heard it prolly 8 million times, Fins always does it for me. The way the crowd whips into a frenzy everytime he does the song is amazing. I get such a natural buzz from that, that I'm high the rest of the night. Acoustic PLA40 is a close second. BTW, I don't care if the topic has been done before, it's still great every time.

definately agree with fins, something about seeing thousands of people with there hands clasped above their heads swaying together. i also love soasoas live, when nadirah shakoor sings "the lady she hails from trinidad", it gives me chills everytime.

This is tough one... CILCIA is fun, since it showcases some of the tailgating highlights...
As for songs not in regular rotation I'll go with Tin Cup Chalice, or Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season.

Love and Luck is so much better live than the studio version. I love that he included it on TT&S.
I also love One Particular Harbor live.

I saw bubba in DC early 70's on stage with only his guitar in ft. of about 400 people ( I was one ) singing some of his " new " songs.
The one I remembers most was the " ballad of Spider John "

I still love Margaritaville.
Having heard the song a bazillion times on CD and radio, it's still just really cool to reflect on the fact that yuo're hearing it live from the guy who wrote it.
Never loses its thrill.

These are all my favorites as well!
Fins, OPH, CILCIA - can't beat the live renditions
I also really happen to like the Tiki version of WDWGDAS.

This is a tough one, but its usually the ones he either has never played live before or songs that he hasn't played in a really long time. But i will say One Particular Harbor, Only Time Will Tell, oh hell all of them get my vote. One exception being Brown Eyed Girl!

CRC (and others).... nailed it, OPH is my favorite, now. But....
My first show in 1970 something started with a black stage, then the theme music from "Jaws" My date was like "Whats going ON?" and I remember screeming at the top of my lungs, "He's going to play F**king Fins" It seemed like out of the black Jimmy lept over a bank of speakers and landed on the first chord and the lights and sound just seemed to explode. Awesome and everytime he plays it I think about that first time

It's hard to believe that WAY BACK WHEN, when I heard "Come Monday" for the first time on vinyl, I didn't like it at all. THEN I heard him do it live, and it gives me chills every time. An absolutely beautiful song to hear live.
But as for a FAVORITE, of course, there are many, but if I can only name one, it would be "Far Side of the World."
LBY:
I was also at that Chicago concert where he did "In My Life." That's always been my favorite song of John Lennon's while he was with the Beatles. And hearing Jimmy do it made time stand still that night.
