Maybe if about 200-300 of us get together, we could all run the door :pirate:

My guess is they know it will be crowded anyways on the weekend....so why do it on a profitable night? Plus...if they are trying to get the strip closed to do a show outside Margaritaville....there chances are probably better on a weeknight when its not so crowded.

Check out Margaritaville.com and look into the locatins area. It's finally got the official notice of the opening on December 11th. There ya go guys, it's official, for all of you doubters!

Will continue to keep ya posted of anything else we Vegas folks hear about, such as New Years Eve and the January events!

Didn't get any pics as my camera was not on me.....I'll see if I can get some here later this week though to post up on the board. It's looking good though (at least from the outside...haven't been fortunate enough to get an inside view yet!)

Okay folks, here's the latest scoop on Margaritaville Vegas:

December 11th - open to the public
December 31st - NYE party, 1,000 people only, $110 includes food, 3 bands and a margarita toast at midnight
January 19th - Coral Reefer Band playing - by invite only - Jimmy may show up
January 20th - rumor has it, Jimmy performing, either with strip area closed off from 3rd floor stage, or inside but with very limited number of people.

Will keep you posted.

I think the December 11th opening is pretty firm....and New Years Eve is pretty locked in (even Vegas can't move that to a Saturday nite!)

The January dates are penciled in right now, but nothing is definite or officially announced yet. Furthermore, if the big parties are invite only....it may be fruitless to come out and attempt to get in. (Unless of course your happy coming to Vegas anytime for any reason!)

Well Deano, per Robert Greenidge, Michael Utley, Tina and Heather - who were hanging out with fellow LV parrot heads at Louie's Backyard in Key West just one short month ago, January 19th is set. So I would say that THEY are pretty reliable sources. As for the 20th - not positive yet. But like Dean says, any excuse to come to Vegas is good!

OK so the Real question is if and I mean if the Grand Opening is
a limited affair, Is there a chance/hope that Jimmy will try and make up
the shows from Cali? If so where are the likely canidates?? Universal,
and the Target in Baja and Oakland, the Shark tank, or (gulp)
Arco in the north am I missing any large venues??
Is anyone willing/thinking of traveling to a non Vegas show????
or will Jimmy put on a show at the MGM or anyplace else to sing for
the masses.? (best Yoda voice) Many questions I must ponder Many Questions Indeed!

Dean, is M'ville gonna be ready for us when we get to Vegas for our annual trip?

Although a make-up show or two would've been nice, I think it's a little too late to wish for one. It's kinda lame that the January show may be invite(or VIP) only. He mentioned it at both Vegas shows this year, so one would assume that the January show would be at a big venue, or on the street or something. Oh well, I'll be there the weekend of the 17th & 18th anyways, so just the chance of seeing him play would be worth staying a couple more days
We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't
be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some whore he picked up in
town.

OH NO!!!!!!!!! Steve's on the board now!!!!!!! lol I think we better let Margaritaville know you guys are coming....they might want to delay their opening til after the trip!!!! j/k Seriously....you think they'll be enough time left to visit a bar after all the charitable activities the group partakes in here???

Anyways...keep me posted when you guys come up with a date....look forward to seeing you all again! :D

Looking at the tour dates....I'm not sure if Club Trini will still be here on the 19th or if that date will be the 21st now. I hope no one booked tickets to the Vegas though with an early departure! Us Sin City folks will try to keep you posted as soon as we hear anything more!

I know....that's what I was referring to.....the original plan supposedly had the Reefers there on the 19th (with possibility of Jimmy showing up) and Jimmy playing officially on the 20th. I'm just guessing that the Reefers date would move to the 21st to coincide with the big show....however, the 19th is still an open date, so I guess it is anyone's guess......hmmmmm :-?
