Has anyone heard any updates on the Grand Opening for the Margaritaville in Vegas? I tried calling the Flamingo and they were unable to give me anything worthwhile. I'm trying to plan my weekend and if anyone had any good info it would be great!

interviews and hiring have begun. they advertised on local television for help last week.

look for a mid december unannounced opening with the "grand" opening once the bugs are worked out in january.

Thats what the Flamingo told me, he asked if I was inquiring about jobs. I said, tempting but I better not.

I am touring it tomorrow with the VP of Sales as I am looking to rent it for a coprorate function when it opens.

The soft Grand Opening is scheduled for December 11th. It will be open for private and VIP parties the week of and leading up to that date. THey are working on a HUGE grand opening involving Jimmy in mid-January. While at MOTM, several folks were told be a few of the band members that they will be back in Vegas January 19th. So mark your calenders for that date.

On the Live in L.V. cd JB says he'll be back in early january for the grand opening and then on to Hawaii.

Just got back fro Vegas last night. It looks like a lot of work needs to be done, but they were working all day Saturday. There were painting the outside, a Volcano and the Margaritaville logo. You can see inside and it look likes most of the design has been built, but little painting was done yet. I would assume that it will be a tight finish.

Thanks everyone, I think this could be an awesome trip in the making! I have a couple of friends who work at casinos in the Flamingo family and I will keep hounding them for updates.

I will definately be there for the grand opening in January. I saw somewhere in another thread that it might be Jan. 19th......that would be perfect. I'll be in Vegas that weekend for my best friend's 21st(who also is a huge phan) so we're crossing our fingers that one trip will cover both bases

I'm planning on making the trip in January. I hope an announcement comes soon.

I hate to be a downer, but I wouldn't go making any expensive plans for the opening. This is going to be a VERY difficult ticket to come by. I would imagine you're going to need serious connections to get in. I'm sure a few lucky Parrottheads will get in, through contests etc., but most will be stuck outside listening though the windows in the end.

The Las Vegas Margaritaville is about ten times as big as most of the other ones. The Key West one is tiny. Vegas is suppposed to be three floors, the second floor has a balcony overlooking the strip with a stage on it. They will be able to fit in quite a few people, however, I'm sure not everyone will get in. I know that they are attempting to get the street closed off to have Jimmy perform. Now the chances of that actually occurring are kind of slim - but you never know.

Will keep you all posted of what I hear from Vegas.

not sure if it matters how big it is. I think this will be an invite event only... especially since it is in Vegas.

I just spoke with one of the managers today from Margaritaville.....he said that December 11th is still the date set for opening with a "soft invite only" opening on December 10th.

As for Jimmy coming out, the target date is Tuesday, January 20th and they are still working with people to see if they can close the strip for an all out party!

Best news of all though is that Club Trini will be playing at Margaritaville the weekend before that and you never know if a certain special guest might show up at that point! (and I'm not talking about Celine!)
