I played my DVD in the player hooked up to my tv... if you go to scene selection, and hit the >| button through the songs, it will take you to the Tiki Bar is Open rehearsal at the end!

Though longer would be better, I am completely satisfied with the appetizer they served up for my $5.88. It does have 4 of my keets' favorite songs, so they're happy too. Jimmy begins by saying, "you asked for it, so we dug up some material for a DVD" or something along those lines. Made me wonder if he was answering requests seen on BN!

Anyway, if sales on this skyrocket, I would have to think they will serve us up some more, and maybe include some of the stuff Ragtop was looking for, which I agree will be fun. But I'm just happy as heck to have a morsel of Jimmy and the Reefers from modern times, and having a blast on stage! I played it over and over last night!
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

I can see how it might seem "OK" to some but for some of us who have never been to a show yet I really liked it & feel that #1 would be targeted to the widest group of people & subsequent releases would have less mainstream stuff / more targeted, etc
I think 6 songs with all parking lot footage would be real cool

just my thoughts

my gripe isn't necessarily that it has his typical mainstream stuff. I've just come to expect that from JB. Let's face it I can find Cheeseburger and Fins on at least 10 different CD's :( . Maybe I'm making an unfair comparison to some of the other DVD's I have that contain some really neat features. I guess I was just looking for a little more than the JB/AJ video and regular concert footage. This could have just as easily came out on VHS and it wouldn't have made a difference in my opinion. DVD's give you the option to have some really neat features that you won't find on a VHS. If he continues to make more I just hope he spends a little more time with. Like I said before it is worth the money :-?

I totally agree with you, there is a bunch of cool things you can do with a dvd - heck, I was also disappointed that the only thing in the dvd case was the dvd itself! #2 will be interesting to see what direction he goes in..

Yea I wonder if the second one will be from the Tiki Time Tour also or if it won't be released until next year with footage from that tour :-?

comes up and asks if she can help me, soooo I ask about Jimmy Buffett
and she says I'll check the computer she is scrolling when I get there
and now she says no it's not in. I look over her sholder and in the CD
list there is listed the new DVD I say no it is not a CD it's a DVD

the DVD is released, ME (after the flashbulb lights) no it was shiped in
two diffrent cases one in the DVD and the other in a jewel case just like
a CD. HER well sir you can check but I can't believe we would have made that mistake. ME lets go check, she goes to CD section and I have to point it out to her she picks it up and says see I was right it's a CD then she
turns it over and on the back marked just for salespeople DVD
HER, I don't understand it is in the computer as a CD I'll have to
go to the manager now and change the list ME sorry to ruin your day :pirate:

Once again the PHs on BN have it all covered! :D
Went to Wal Mart (based on the prices you folks quoted), got the DVD for $5.88 + tax (Best price I've heard of). Watched it (agree it was too short but OK for the price). Then re-read this thread and found the hidden track (Tiki Bar rehearsal).

Thanks for the continuing good advice. :)

Wouldn't it be nice if Jimmy could come out with a dvd that would be the same quality like his Tales from Margaritaville VHS tape? You could have some concert footage, some parking lot footage and some music videos. Hey, you can put up to 2 hours plus on a dvd. Hey I'm available for consulting work, Jimmy.

Yes the click on the compass does work.

But as the DVD was advertised, it is a Mini-Matinee. One can only hope that the next ones will be more quality and quantity.

But hey, it is still great that we have got the first dvd. I'm sure more will follow.

Went to Hastings Book and asked for help and the guy types in Buffet with one t into the computer. Had to tell him it was with two t's. Then tells me that they can special order it. Then went to Walmart and Sam Goody's. Nothing. Only one other store in Helena Montana could have it: K-Mart. I lucked out and there were two copies in stock. But it was only $5.99 and there is no sales tax in Montana. Hopefully another parrothead will get the other one. The checker tells me that he thinks he has a Buffett's Greatest Hits cd, but that's the only one he knew of. He stared blankly at me when I told him I went to Key West two weeks ago to attend the parties and saw some of the band members.

Life in Montana. Thank God I can jump on three different airplanes and fly 14 hours to MoTM to get a different perspective!

Ragtopw-my Best Buy also had the jewel case version mixed in with the CDs (though they did have the other package in the DVD section). I called the manager over and showed it to him and they immediately took care of it, but i'm sure that problem exists at many places.

It amazes me how people are never satisfied. Give me, give me, give me. It is just as advertised, and I think it was great.

On another note, does anyone know how I could get a copy of the video for "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere"?

I'm definitely not complaining. For the five buckaroos I spent at Wally World, this DVD was a steal. The version of Knees of my Heart was worth the money by itself. Come on, how cool was Ralph chiming in during the song playing only plastic bags and pieces of paper. I was in total awe. I would give anything to be a fly on the wall at one of those practice sessions. I'm also under the impression that this is just the first of many DVD's, which would kick ass. Instead of one long DVD where we can only watch the same show over and over, we hopefully will get a variety of shows and yearly tours. I love the idea of having a library of DVD's, so I can go back and choose which show or tour I want to remember. I say bravo Jimmy, we asked for it, and you gave it to us. Thanks a bunch and I apologize for those who will never be happy with the products you make available for us.
