I knew this was going to happen!!This is horrible news if, this is indeed true, which i believe it is.I can't believe after all these years of playing Great Woods he is actually going to mess with the formula.I'm sorry but i am really dissapointed if Jimmy has decided to go to stadiums.Great Woods Rules!

U2 & Jimmy Buffet are all but signed, sealed & delivered for Fenway concerts next summer. Buffet will be in late August or early September, but no date has been set for U2 yet.

The Red Sox ownership are trying to maximize their revenue streams due to the large nut they owe the lenders.

what's the Sox schedule for Labor Day? Away this year, shouldn't they be?

DAMN, this is horrible news.

One show at Fenway in addition to GW would be one thing, but........

I understand that everyone loves Great Woods, but I can see it as a possibility that Jimmy would like to play Fenway. He was supposed to be at the Yankees-Red Sox game there this year that got rained out and he is a baseball fan. Fenway is a nostalgic place. The only thing I am mad about is that I probably wont be able to go!

It definatley will not be over labor day weekend, Sox are home against Detroit I beleive. I'm probably in the minority here but I would welcome 1 show at Fenway instead of GW (for 1 year only, than it's back to GW). 2 of my favorite things in the entire world... Buffett and Fenway! I'll shut down St. Germain St so we can tailgaite in front of my apartment.

oh ya if we think GW tix are tough to come by, we are in for a rude awakening!

Great Stadium for baseball yes! Great Stadium for a Jimmy Buffett concert no!We need the tailgate, the woods, the venue, the whole Great Woods experience!!!You want to get nostalgic then talk about all the great Buffett shows at Great Woods!!!And now think about not having them there anymore.

The Tigers are the weekend before Labor Day. The Sox are playing at home on Labor Day Weekend. Except on Labor Day itself, which is an away game, and now seems a likely JB possibility.....

If the venue is so big that I have to watch the band on jumbotrons, then I'd rather just watch it at home on TV.

Lee it's the smallest ballpark in the majors, you won't need the jumbotron.

I agree!
And correct me if I'm wrong, since I've only been to Fenway once, I don't recall a lot of places to tailgate around there. Or even park or stand for that matter!

so what about cities with no big venues, like Alpine..? Move it up the road to Miller park? This could be intresting, many more people will be able to get seats, although I think there will even be less 'good seats'...

If he does a stadium tour, I guess it would have its ups and downs. Ups, it would be cheaper and easier to get tickets in some cities, and Jimmy would probibly enjoy it more. Downs, less tailgating, some traditions would be broke, and some places would be harder phor tickets.

Jimmy at the Horshoe...108,00 people could fit in there..that would be awsome
and Jimmy theres still so much to be done...

I would say that any seat in Fenway would be closer than any lawn seat at GW.

This is turning out great, from the responses it looks like Ragtop will get a private concert at Fenway :D
