Does anyone know if Jimmy is going to be at the Jazz Fest this coming year? We went last year and had a blast, though the run from the gate to our seats was a little exhausting being that I had chairs and coolers in my hand, but it was well worth it.

Early in the tour I think he said he would be doing Jazz Fest in 2004.

Jimmy said they were not making Jazzfest this year but would be there next year. So will we. It was like Woodstock when he was ther in 2002.

One less excuse to go to New Orleans. Then again, do you really need a good excuse?

I went in 2002. It was hot! I mean HOT!! And it's all open seating and you have to get there super early to get a decent spot. I'm talking OPEN seating here folks. Like bring a blanket or a lawn chair to sit on all day and then stand up for Buffett, of course. It's like one giant lawn section! The good part is, you have entertainment all day long while you are waiting for Buffett to take the stage. The bad part is, if you are in the middle you have about 20,000 people crammed in on either side of you that you have to walk through in order to go to the bathroom or get drinks or food... I was very lucky. My dad has a good friend on the Jazz Fest staff and I got to be up close in the VIP area. It was on the side of the stage, not the best view, but I didn't have to stand there all day long guarding my spot. After being there and seeing what I saw, the mass amounts of people and the hassle, if I didn't have the VIP thing, I wouldn't go back. But if Buffett is there this year, you can bet I'm making a phone call to my dad's buddy!

Except that you will be there which would be a reason to go you just guranteed that I won't go cuz I can't stand crowds like that. It's exactly why going during Mardi Gras ONCE is enough!

If you need an excuse to go to New Orleans, check out
www.jerrydiaz.com and click on the Pardi Gras 2004 link. It's a long weekend of Parrothead music and fun, Jan 15-18. You need to register by 1/2/2004 to get a shirt, etc.
