I'm OK with her ending up with Big -- as they have both had to complete their journeys before they could be together. OR, if she just realizes that she doesn't need a man, she's fabulous and that's all that matters is cool too. I'd dump AP.

It was funny not having the little typing scene with the "quandry of the week" question in the episode. Wonder if it will return next week?? When she comes home to get her laptop? Will Big bring it to her?

Will she wake up discover this has all been a dream sequence? Will she end up with Mr. Dithers? Will she decide that life on the Island wasn't so bad and return with her castaways? Hmmmm.
I wanna go back to the Island...

See you in Boston, September 2nd!

Kudos to HBO for (1) having Carrie tell us what kind of love she's looking for -- for which AP could NEVER provide --

Carrie: "I am someone who is looking for love, real love, ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't live without each other love. And I don't think that love is here in this expensive suite in this lovely hotel in Paris" ...

I mean, honestly, could you see AP dissolving into a fit of giggles on the floor in a hotel corridor?

and

(2) bringing back BIG, the one who makes Carrie feel all those things she wants out of love.

Carrie: How did you get here?

Big: It took me a long time to get here. But I'm here. Carrie, you're the one.

Carrie: Kiss me, you crybaby. I miss New York. Take me home.

HBO did a phabulous job of tying all the girls' stories together....and making sense of all of them. I was sooo proud of Miranda. Charlotte never lost faith (although she changed it  ) and Sam finally fell in love.

Great run. Am going to get the DVD's.

It was a lovely cruise around your island, Carrie & Company. Sail on.

I just watched the 11:00 re-run. OMG. How wonderful was that?

If you listen to the very last lines Carrie speaks while she's walking down a crowded street in NYC

-- wearing the original fur coat from the first season

-- carrying a Manolo Blahnik shopping bag

-- after she's talked about all the other girls and their relationships

-- and she talks about her relationship, I think you'll understand why she made the best choice for her.

*Sigh* Can't wait for the movie.

...you mean John!

I still have mixed feelings... it's a good thing they jerkitized AP by him making Carrie miss her party and then slapping her, otherwise I wouldn't be so agreeable to her leaving him. I mean come on - he's an artist with a big opening... give him time to get through that, then live happily ever after! :D

But I guess finding the Carrie necklace was symbolic of her finding herself, and knowing she belonged in NY with her friends and her true love. :-? We may never see it, but she's gonna get hurt again! 8)

I had a thought while watching the repeat last night.

Carrie was good with Aiden.
Aiden is not "New York".
Carrie loves New York.
Big is "New York".

Well said, Queenie. Aiden was my fave for Carrie, but Carrie's an "uptown" girl .... the show was a journey for Carrie to find her true self. She tried on a lot of guys, but there was only one good fit . . . and that was Big.

He might break her heart again, but no love is perfect.

I was avoiding this thread, as our season has just started here and we are only in to the third week of the last season.

So, I am watching the news last night - the same station that broadcasts the show and they had a story on how America cried through the last episode it etc etc and THEY SHOWED WHO SHE ENDED UP WITH

I could not believe they did that!!!!

Talk about taking all the fun of the last series away - idiots!!!
